The Refuge du Lac d’Allos is a truly wonderful place to relax in the heart of the mountains. They offer a set menu prepared with fresh, homemade ingredients. The dishes are traditional, simple, generous, and absolutely delicious. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly and the welcome is truly warm. Be sure to book the day before, as places fill up quickly.

A wonderful adventure at the Refuge du Lac d’Allos Excellent welcome at the Refuge du Lac d’Allos! Truly incredible cuisine, delicious and generous, which is especially welcome after a beautiful day of hiking. The dormitory is simple, adequate, and clean, perfectly suited to the spirit of the place. This refuge has a special charm, offering a truly rustic and authentic adventure: no showers, eco-friendly toilets… but that’s precisely what makes the experience so unique! A professional, warm, and very friendly team, always with a smile. A wonderful break in the heart of the mountains that we thoroughly enjoyed.

A fabulous welcome, a magnificent and generous meal, and above all, truly exceptional values. After two years of absence, Fred, the manager and owner, didn't just remember us: he remembered our first names. Which, in itself, is quite remarkable. But the most remarkable thing was yet to come: he reminded us that, following a double payment, he owed us money. And, as if honesty needed an instruction manual, he handed us the money, in its original envelope, with that rare blend of humor, simplicity, and sincerity that is so sorely lacking in our daily lives. Two years later, he remembered us. And, during those two years, he had carefully kept in mind… that he owed us something. Here's a certain idea of ​​hospitality: you come for the mountains, you return for the memories, and you leave with the certainty that somewhere, there are still people who have memory, humor, and honor. Thank you, Fred. The Refuge d'Allos is definitely more than just a refuge: it's a haven where you rediscover a little of what you thought you'd lost. And, incidentally, where you get back what you paid for twice. With a smile. Which, let's face it, is a pretty good definition of five-star service.

A timeless weekend, a magical and profoundly restorative interlude ❤️ From Friday, August 7th to Monday, August 11th, we had an unforgettable experience at the Refuge du Lac d’Allos. We came seeking a bit of nature… and we found so much more. 🌿⛰️ A few days of simplicity, lightness, sharing, and reconnecting with what truly matters, surrounded by incredibly beautiful nature that, in its own way, gave us a real breath of fresh air. Here, there's no Wi-Fi, no cell service, no phone interrupting conversations… and ultimately, what bliss! ❤️ We rediscovered the return to our primal instincts, the ones that allow us to fully appreciate the people around us, to share, to laugh, to contemplate, to walk, and simply… to be present. Without artifice. A huge THANK YOU to Fred, the owner, and his entire team. Your warm welcome, attentiveness, kindness, and friendliness greatly contributed to making this stay so exceptional. You were all incredibly kind and always available, and that truly deserves to be highlighted. 🥰 And then there was Mont Pelat… ⛰️ For me, Marine, it was my very first mountain hike. I had to face my fears, the heights, my vertigo, and that little voice inside that sometimes told me I wouldn't make it. But thanks to Sandra, her encouragement, and her presence, I managed to reach 2,955 meters. I stopped there, but for me, it was already a huge victory. I conquered some of my fears and came back down with a pride I will never forget. ❤️ And Sandra… let's talk about her! 😂 Even with completely worn-out shoes, she still climbed to 3,050 meters! A true warrior! 🥾😂 This adventure allowed us to reconnect with ourselves, push our limits, and rediscover nature, and above all, realize how precious these simple and authentic moments have become. We leave with our heads full of memories, our hearts light, and our energy renewed. This trip will remain deeply etched in our memories. We will be back very, very soon, this time with our children, to share this magnificent interlude with them and offer them this resource that has become so rare: time, nature, silence, sharing, and what truly matters. ❤️ Thank you so much for everything. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly wonderful experience in an absolutely exceptional setting! The refuge is unique, and the view of Lake Allos is simply magnificent. We slept in a dormitory with a breathtaking view of the lake: a wake-up call we'll remember for a long time. We opted for the half-board option. The evening meal was excellent, very generous, and we were even offered seconds, which was very welcome after a day of hiking. The only slight drawback was the numerous flies in the dining room. Regarding the showers, we were informed before our arrival that due to water restrictions, they would be unavailable. Having been informed in advance, we were able to make alternative arrangements. And let's not forget that we come to a mountain refuge for an authentic experience, not to stay in a five-star hotel! We will gladly return.
