A wonderful discovery! This mountain restaurant is magnificent, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The welcome was very warm, the products were high quality (and probably the best bougnettes in the region). A real treat, I highly recommend it.

We spent the night of July 17th in this refuge with our group of six during a multi-day hike. What a wonderful surprise! The setting is ideal (a magnificent wood-clad chalet adorned with flowers, a terrace with a view of Mont Blanc) nestled in a meadow, the interior is warm and inviting with hot showers and bedrooms, dinner was excellent (bougnettes!), and the waitress Emilie was very welcoming and helpful. Everything is very well maintained. We highly recommend this refuge!

The place is still magnificent, with a very pleasant setting and a traditional menu that remains delicious.
However, I feel the establishment is gradually losing its authentic mountain charm, with service that is less attentive than before. Despite our patience and a follow-up with the waitress, we waited nearly 45 minutes for dessert. We ended up paying the bill without having been able to enjoy them and left disappointed.
More generally, we had the feeling that the service had become more impersonal, as if we were simply another customer in a perpetually full establishment. It's a shame, because the place deserves a warmer, more attentive experience that stays true to its identity.

An exceptional location; after a hike, it's wonderful to arrive at the Gîte du Tornieux. A warm welcome, and we were given time to play cards while enjoying an aperitif.
The meal was hearty and generous for the portion size! This is our third visit, and we're always satisfied.

After their long shift ended, our three charming waitresses offered to drive me back to the parking lot to retrieve my car, given my fatigue after a 10-hour hike, thus saving me an extra hour of walking. That's what mountain people are all about.
