I had the best tarte flambée of my life here! The price was quite reasonable. The service was friendly. Large terrace. I found the interior a bit "strange".

The dishes were very good and plentiful, served with a smile, in a warm atmosphere.

Excellent from start to finish. Delicious sauerkraut and sweet tarte flambée. I recommend it 1000%. Very friendly waitresses.

Food was great, service terrible. The cuisine at A l'Homme Sauvage is truly outstanding – from the frog legs to the tarte flambée, everything was top-notch. The service, however, was chaotic: orders were taken, then forgotten, and only reappeared when it came time to pay. Drinks also simply got lost in the shuffle. Important for dog owners: Large dogs seem to be unwelcome here. My 40-kg Malamute, due to its size, briefly touched a neighboring table with its tail while standing – immediately prompting a snarky reprimand from the owner. At the same time, a small dog at the next table was allowed to sit at chair height and bark regularly without any reaction. This double standard was blatant. (Food for thought!) Conclusion: Excellent food, but the service and treatment of guests – especially owners of larger dogs – clearly need improvement.

What can I say? First off, the tarte flambée was good. I had the traditional one, my wife had the vegetarian one with mushrooms. My wife also had the side salad. It seemed to be all from a jar – radish, red cabbage, grated carrots – just not right. My red wine must have been straight from the fridge, ice cold. In short, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

It's praised for its good tarte flambée. When we arrived, based on the Google Maps listing that it was "open from 6 pm," the door was locked. So: call ahead to check.

Unfortunately, the tarte flambée base isn't homemade; it's industrially produced. That's a shame. It was still delicious, though. But in Alsace, you can expect more.
