The bedding was of good quality and the staff very friendly, but I regret a few points. During a heatwave, the heat in the room, without air conditioning, was unbearable. Additionally, there was a lingering musty smell, and long hairs were scattered on the bathroom walls. These details unfortunately spoiled the experience.

Having stayed at this hotel as I was traveling, the rooms are really spacious and equipped with air conditioning which is really useful in August.
As the restaurant is closed (in August), they are in partnership with the Brasserie de la Gare, the cuisine was simple but very good.
The staff really welcoming and warm.

Restaurant situé juste en face de l’hôtel The Original. Belle salle, nappe en tissu couverts en argent
Le dîner aurait pu être parfait, hélas nous n’avons eu du pain aussi dur pratiquement rassis.
Le vol au vent pas très chaud, au demeurant excellent, la viande pluma de pata negra pas cuite presque saignante, vraiment dommage

Incredible moment with my darling, the chef's dishes were very, very good and innovative! The rooms are very clean and well insulated, we slept very well.

I stayed one night at the Hôtel des Bourbons following the evacuation of my apartment. The only reason for this review is to thank the lady in charge of breakfast, who was extraordinarily kind.

We stopped in Angoulême, spent a night at the hotel and ate at the brasserie: just a shame that the fries were in the frying pan again and again! Correct room. Friendly staff at reception

I ordered the menu gourmand. The starter of escalope de foie gras with a salad of magret was good as was the pave d'omble, a fish which I think in English is char. The main course was magret de canard, and although the duck breast was rare as ordered, the skin was undercooked and the fat not adequately rendered, making it impossible to eat the skin and fat. The cheese course consisted of St Nectaire, a local cheese whose name I forget and fourme d'Ambert, completely acceptable. On the whole, a meal which promised much but did not completely deliver.
