Restaurant Bodega La Plancha sur Saint-Jean-De-Luz

We knew this restaurant when it was called Bodega Plancha and the food was very good; I left a good review. Now, the €21.90 set menu wasn't worth it: three sardines for a starter, a poorly served flank steak with a bad sauce, and tasteless rice pudding. And all the drinks at €5.50—diabolo, iced tea, or beer—the water wasn't cold... Since it's now two restaurants with one kitchen, I think the quality has dropped considerably; I won't be going back.

Not great, the burger was really disappointing and the fries were overcooked. However, the service was excellent 👍🏼

The food was good but it took a long time for them to serve us our three courses. Plenty of people who sat after us, ate, finished and left before us.

Simple but excellent cuisine, lovely welcoming restaurant, friendly staff, reasonable prices, especially with the bistro menu.

Excellent bistro! We thoroughly enjoyed the set menu (starter + main course + dessert), and the iced tea was also delicious. The service was quick, and the servers were all friendly. Great atmosphere! Highly recommended! 🤩

Strange set up where the restaurant over the street holds the kitchen for both and the staff work in both. The bistro is the cheaper option. This meant slow service. We sat in the rear patio which was attractive and peaceful. I fancied mussels so we tried the 19€ Menu. The service was cheery but slow. We had to ask for bread! The starters were fine - a good portion of charcuterie - and the moules frites were tasty but the mussels were not very warm, presumably all that travelling across the street! Dessert was an OK creme brulee which we had to remind them about. You even pay across the street. I guess you get what you pay for. I think the one star reviews are undeserved but it's not fine cuisine to be sure and the service needs improving at any price.

For the price, you certainly shouldn't expect better... Small portions, frozen fries, but decent overall.

We received a very warm welcome. The menu was truly local, and we loved it. The portions were generous and delicious. A truly excellent restaurant; from the authentic local decor to the food itself, everything was superb... Not to mention the very reasonable price, which was in line with the average. In any case, I highly recommend this place for enjoying local cuisine in a lovely setting.
