To celebrate my 70th birthday, I chose this restaurant so my family and friends could be in Ascain, near my home, and close to the hotel for those who came from other towns. The restaurant has a lovely dining room opening onto a terrace with a view of a field and La Rhune mountain. The welcome was warm and professional. We were very happy with our choice of this restaurant for my birthday.

Very welcoming, good value for money, perhaps one of our dishes could have used a bit more seasoning! It's all a matter of taste. We recommend it.

A delightful discovery! Simple cuisine, but with sophisticated seasonings and sauces, expertly prepared to highlight the main ingredient of each dish. Highly recommended! 👍

Chez Gildas

07/09/2026: Solid burgers! It's also great that there's a vegetarian option; that's not always a given in France. But what really stands out is the service – the staff are incredibly friendly!
05/09/2026: We went to this restaurant by chance this week, very warm welcome and excellent meal, thank you to this team of restaurateurs, I highly recommend it after a good hike to the rhune.
