Restaurant du Boeuf sur Lyon

On our return trip from Provence, we spent two days in Lyon. This is where we came across Le Bœuf d’Argent by chance. In the evening, only menus are offered. The service was very friendly, and our questions were answered expertly. The wine list is huge, but help is available. The food was incredible, very refined, and every dish surprised us. A special experience was the appetizer before dessert, designed to cleanse our taste buds. Then the chef, an Italian lady, came to ask our opinion – simply excellent. It’s a slightly higher price range, but an absolute favorite to add a special touch to your visit to Lyon.

Fantastic experience. Great family run restaurant in Old Lyon. Beautiful interior, attentive waitstaff, and great food. Their 39 euro business lunch is great value. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Lyon.

This restaurant was one of the best that we went to in France. The octopus was absolutely delicious. A family run business with fantastic service. We had the a wine paired menu, the wine was perfect for every course and the waiter kindly helped us practice our French!

An old Lyon institution taken over by a Franco-Italian family to the great delight of our taste buds. From starter to dessert, the Italian chef takes us from one country to another. The oil when tasting is just incredible. French or Italian wine by the glass to accompany roasted octopus tentacles, mashed potatoes and crunchy ginger... Divine!

Wow wow wow. I don’t care if this is a Michelin star or not, this place will give any premier top end restaurant a run for its money. It’s simple and genuine. The entire experience was very simple, yet very thoughtfully creative. The chef and staff were very accommodating of my dietary restrictions(vegetarian/no eggs) and went above and beyond to render the experience worthy of master chef level. I’m blown away!

We visited here as a couple. Amazing flavours and service second to none. Attentive service and the food was the best we have had in France (sorry!) in 2 weeks. I’m not sure if you can book but we just walked up. We ordered the spring rolls to start with and they were melt in the mouth. We then ordered the sticky rice with onions, rice with Chinese sausage and beef with onions plus the prawn dish. All cooked to perfection. For dessert we ordered both the hot and cold mochi. Omg!! Was brilliant too! You will not be dissatisfied or disappointed here the quality and flavours were fantastic. I’m sure if we had found this restaurant - few days ago this would now be our only place to dine! Amazing 10/10 A*.
