Restaurant Là-Haut sur Saverne

We stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting the castle, and what a surprise when the food arrived! Just passing through the area for a romantic weekend, we stopped at this restaurant, which we highly recommend! An Alsatian burger and a Flammekueche with Munster cheese might not sound particularly appealing on paper, but for our taste buds… Simply thank you!

After booking 45 minutes in advance, the table wasn't ready for lunch; I felt like we were bothering the staff. The food was very good and plentiful. However, the service was lacking. I would still recommend it.

Beautiful character and views! Food was excellent and an amazing staff too. We stayed in the suite for 2 nights and will be back again.

This is a must-visit restaurant for anyone visiting Saverne, not only for its cuisine but also for its geographical location.

Excellent raclette in the cozy atmosphere of the chalet. Everything was perfect: the quality, the decor, and the superb service! A special mention to Tibo who provided impeccable service with joy and good humor! Thank you!!!

Decent service, decent food, very beautiful setting.

The dishes were okay, nothing special, lacking in flavor. Three tiny pieces of mushrooms for a veal escalope in cream sauce wasn't great 😔 but the homemade fries were very good. The pot-au-feu was served in a bowl, which wasn't ideal. It would have been much better served on a plate with the meat and vegetables, and the marrow bone and soup in a separate small bowl. We didn't really appreciate this presentation, and the horseradish was missing... a shame.

The restaurant boasts an exceptional setting, housed in an exceptional building. The sign proclaims "winstub," but unfortunately, inside, there's very little to suggest a winstub. We waited over 45 minutes between the starter and the main course, and the wine (chilled Pinot Noir) was placed on the table almost 30 minutes before the main courses arrived, without a bucket. The fish was overcooked. All these issues were pointed out, but there was no word of consolation or apology from what appeared to be the head waiter, who spent his time pacing around clutching his lower back. There weren't many smiling faces, except for the waiter who took over at the end of service and managed to salvage the situation. The rest of the dishes were acceptable. A total bill of €180 for four people is very disappointing for this type of service. P.S.: Consider changing or cleaning your light fixtures; having lunch in a dusty environment is hardly pleasant.

Good meal. The service was too fast for the starter and main course; we hadn't even finished our aperitif, and it was far too slow for dessert. The location is beautiful. The terrace is lovely. We weren't offered the option of eating inside, so I can't comment on the interior. The restaurant offers chalets where you can enjoy dishes such as raclette and pierrade. It's a friendly atmosphere. We'll return to stay in the chalet with friends.
