Restaurant du Man sur La Rochelle

Unlike some angry people venting on social media, we had lunch at this lovely restaurant. The staff was friendly and our couscous was delicious. Both the quality and quantity were excellent. We were very satisfied and felt that the value for money didn't justify some of the negative comments we saw in the reviews. Thank you all, keep up the good work, we'll be back.

We received a very warm welcome at this restaurant, which has a lovely decor and clean restrooms. We had a very good meal; the couscous was excellent, as were the chicken and lamb shoulder. However, we felt the prices were high for what the food was. A fairer price would have been around €20, in our opinion.

Excellent! Tasty, generous portions. Warm and peaceful atmosphere. Quick service. Welcoming, smiling staff who always offered a little something extra. Spotless cutlery, dining room, and restrooms. We had a lovely time and will gladly return.

Friendly welcome, oriental decor but dated, service a bit unclear. The food was good but definitely not worth the prices (an average of €28 for a plate of couscous). We were expecting refined cuisine, something we weren't used to. The meat was good, as were the vegetables, but very roughly chopped. The sauce was good, but nothing that justifies the price. We were a group of 15, and at the end of the meal, the owner came with a tray of small desserts and asked who wanted some and who wanted tea. We thought it was a small gesture of goodwill, but it wasn't; everything was charged, even the tea. I really don't understand the prices; for me, it's not even worth half. At that price, I'd much rather go to a good bistro in the city center.

Hello, I stopped for lunch at this couscous restaurant, what a wonderful place! And such a warm welcome! I ordered the Constantine couscous (chicken and merguez sausage). It was amazing! In a setting that allows you to dream a little. The couscous was so generous, all the ingredients were there. Inshallah... The owner and his son were very attentive, thank you. A beautiful place, A change of scenery, welcoming and warm. Generous couscous. I recommend it. Prices are a bit high, minimum 25 euros for couscous.

A very warm welcome, the kindness of the entire team, and above all, extremely generous portions. If you're looking for a delicious couscous or an excellent tagine, this is the place to go, perhaps with a mint tea to finish. Plus, there's easy parking nearby or in the lot behind.
