Restaurant Hiely Lucullus sur Avignon

Restaurant located on the main artery of the center of Avignon (rue de la République). On the 1st floor of the building, restaurant room with chic and sober art deco atmosphere. It is a couple of restaurateurs who manage the establishment with a masterful hand: the husband from Avignon in the kitchen and his wife of Peruvian origin in the dining room. The marriage is also made on the plate, where the flavors of Provence complement each other with Peruvian flavors. The chef has a lot of talent, the mixtures are subtle: grilled asparagus with notes of chocolate and sweet pepper… who would have thought it? And yet it “matches” wonderfully! No false notes until dessert included! We had an excellent, timeless time. The question I ask myself: why is this restaurant not starred? He fully deserves it

Such an amazing meal! The atmosphere is great, the service is fantastic and friendly, and the food is really remarkable. I highly recommend a visit!

We were there as a couple to celebrate a birthday after finding it in the Guide Michelin. The food was excellent, and even something as simple as green asparagus became a sensation. There were no boring courses there. The service was precise and friendly and could cater to all our needs, especially my questions. The ambiance and location felt very high class and also intimate and still very welcoming. The price is more than adequate, and if I would have guessed only by the food, service, and location, I would have guessed it to be much more expensive. But mostly I want to stress two things for non-French speakers and vegetarians. This is a very good place for you. I sent an email with all dietary restrictions the morning before and swiftly got a call back so they could plan alternatives for us. The call was done in English and left me feeling in good hands. On a last note, we don't drink alcohol and had a non-alcoholic aperitif with herbs and juices, which I loved! Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasions or if you just want to have some haute cuisine.

We shared a milestone birthday here and the service, and food, was exceptional! The hostess can speak three languages fluently, English, French, Spanish; and the food was a magnificent mix between Peruvian and traditional French cuisine. Highly recommend!

Nice break between Provence and Peru, recommended

Excellent from start to finish. A constant discovery, which takes you on a journey between Provence and Peru. The best of these two cuisines, sophisticated, refined dishes, flawless. The quality of the cuisine, the welcome, the setting, make for a great time. Value for money, an experience worthy of a star.
