Restaurant JYS sur Colmar

Very nice food, unfortunately a few slight bugs with the sommelier. With two courses the food arrived well before the wine.

Where everything was supposed to be beauty, luxury, calm, and pleasure, we instead found a very large room, perhaps a little too large, rather cold despite being very bilingual and flashy. As for the food, we opted for the grand 10-course tasting menu. Of course, it was very good, but still, for a 2-Michelin-starred restaurant with 4 toques, the dishes lacked intensity, that "wow" factor, if you will. We weren't transported on a culinary journey; in fact, we didn't really find any connection, any chef's signature style, throughout the succession of dishes. Perhaps the menu and the wine list are running out of steam, still very much focused on winter. The service was professional but overwhelmed. So, we left not exactly dissatisfied, but not fulfilled either. It wasn't a moment of grace; the magic didn't work this time. The price-quality ratio was too high.

Pleasant setting, warm welcome, and delicious dishes that are pleasing to both the eye and the palate. A delightful experience, with thoughtful attention to detail and customer service. We will return.

I visited Colmar, a two-star Michelin gastronomy restaurant, hoping to enjoy a special dinner. This time, I ordered the six-course dinner with wine pairings. Each dish was beautifully presented and the flavors were delicately balanced, making it a highly refined course, as you'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The combinations and presentations of the ingredients were well thought out, and each dish was surprising, making the meal itself feel like an experience in itself. The wine pairings were carefully tailored to the dishes, further enhancing the appeal of each dish. The staff's explanations and service were attentive, allowing me to enjoy a leisurely meal in a calm atmosphere. While the prices are by no means cheap, I believe this restaurant offers a wonderful experience, including the food, wine, and service. I recommend this restaurant to anyone planning a special dinner in Colmar.

Although we are familiar with Michelin-starred restaurants, our discovery of JY's profoundly impressed us: this restaurant rises to the pinnacle of our culinary experiences, undoubtedly offering the best value for money among the high-end restaurants we have had the pleasure of visiting. From the moment you arrive, the place reveals its character: a perfectly measured welcome and an atmosphere that subtly blends elegance and conviviality. The food itself is exceptional. While the technical mastery and the quality of the ingredients meet the expectations of such a distinction, JY's stands out in two remarkable ways: each dish is a true work of art, while the flavor combinations orchestrate a captivating sensory journey. Tradition is delicately interwoven with unexpected notes, creating a harmony that is as bold as it is refined. For us, this restaurant deserves a third star. We can only encourage you to discover this remarkable address.

We shared a restaurant with a couple of friends. Of course, the welcome and service were excellent. The quality of the food was remarkable. We will definitely return.

Lovely experience at JY's! We went for the dinner menu paired with wines and it was a fantastic episode in our quest for the best Michelin starred restaurants. The food was delicious, very balanced proteins-carbs-fats, beautiful plated. The service impeccable, very professional yet friendly. The wines were great, the sommelier has an interesting character, he is very focused and meticulous and provided us a spot-on pairing. The only thing that is maybe not perfect is the design of the restaurant which, for my taste, is a bit boring (it's a huge modern design room), but the space between sittings is excellent, the furniture is contemporary and of very good quality. At the end we had the opportunity and pleasure to meet Jean-Yves, the chef, and he's a very nice and kind person. We'll return for sure with the next trip to Colmar.

Bravo! The restaurant's decor is superb, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The plates and other presentation accessories are very original, as are the various dishes: beautiful, original, and delicious! Special mention for the sweet treats served at the end of the meal!
