Epfig, magnificent little village near Obernai
Vineyards and vines as far as the eye can see, a city crossroads and a restaurant, the KIRMANN restaurant, a killer from tarte flambée to Munster burger and ham, you will find Alsasace in its full taste, not to mention the natural and organic wines offered on their card

A superb discovery to make in Epfig!
The setting is just incredible. The cuisine is homemade, very good and generous. The wines are also to be discovered, the orange wine or the cuvée des fous, emblematic of the house. This family story commands admiration! I will come back to test in winter with the Christmas decorations.

Very friendly welcome. Very nice and friendly staff. It was for a company meal for the long service medal awards. Really a very pleasant place and a pleasant Spanish-style interior decor. I highly recommend this establishment.

Bêle adresse à l’entrée de la commune ! Ce restaurant appartient à un viticulteur !
Le cadre est grandiose avec cette véranda intégrée au bâtiment. Les plats sont délicieux , le service rapide et les tarifs raisonnables

My experience at Kirmann is mixed...
In terms of setting and service, nothing to complain about. The setting is really beautiful, tastefully decorated. The service is really good, the waitresses are smiling and very friendly!
As for the food, the tarte flambée taken as an aperitif was very good.
For the main course, the Fish burger announced on the menu: fish, salad, tartar sauce. Once arrived, the Burger was with ketchup and not tartar sauce.
Not liking ketchup, I pointed it out to the waitress who took the dish back. Less than 5 minutes later my dish returned, the bread was changed, the ketchup on the fish was badly "scraped" and the fish turned over to hide the misery and a plaster of tartar sauce was put on.
I ate my meal because I was hungry and, at 21st, I wasn't going to throw it away, but it was a disappointment.
To avoid this kind of inconvenience, serve what is indicated on the menu, if it had written ketchup like in the description of the other burgers, I would have had another dish!
For beef tartare, the taste of the meat is completely hidden by a pronounced vinegary taste.
The fish and chips and chicken supreme chosen by the children were satisfying.
Other guests were with us, but I will only speak from my family's own experience.
Finally, in terms of atmosphere, hearing Patrick Sébastien sing “happy birthday” 8 times in the evening was more than unpleasant and really clashed with the rather cozy setting!

We’ve just enjoyed a great evening at Restaurant Kermann. This is an amazing family run restaurant in a building they have developed from an originally far more modest property to become a traditional Alsace-style restaurant. It’s a great space, with a retractable glass roof and, whilst the restaurant is large and able to accommodate a great number of people, the service is extremely friendly and amazingly efficient. Our server (whose name I regret I forgot to ask) was so helpful and made sure we enjoyed our evening - she brought us over a book of the restaurant’s history, showing photographs of the family and the work that had been done to develop the restaurant. A little later, we met Madame Kirmann, who had also taken the trouble to come across and say “hello.”
We chose two steak dishes, both of which were tender and cooked (medium-rare) to perfection and we also enjoyed a bottle of the family’s own Cremant. It was great to enjoy good food in a lively, buzzing atmosphere and served by such a friendly team.

A very nice restaurant with good cuisine and a very cozy atmosphere.
The restaurant is apparently very popular in the area and so a reservation is mandatory - if you don't want to wait a long time
The service sometimes took a bit of time, but the colleagues supported each other well.
Thank you for the lovely evening, we would love to come back.

I shared the address with a friend who loved the setting.
Indeed, it is a very good address in a superb authentic setting. The tarte flambée is excellent with a hint of acidity from the fromage blanc.
Apparently the cold fish plate is also excellent as are the raw vegetables.
Perhaps next time I would like to find a slightly more extensive menu there... Especially if the same quality can be offered there.
It is better to book as it is a very popular place. It’s very big but it can be full 😉
