Restaurant la Fontaine sur Vaison-La-Romaine

Simply exceptional, I highly recommend it. Coline, Olivier, and Yann will be there to delight you, all in a verdant setting overlooking the medieval village.

Simply delicious in a wonderful setting

The setting is beautiful with a lovely view from the medieval upper town. The food is good, but the service is far from impeccable and professional. First, we were told we had to wait for the menus because there weren't enough for everyone (even though half the tables were empty). Then we had to ask for everything, starting with the bread, then the cutlery for dessert. The amuse-bouches were placed on the table without any explanation. The main courses were then brought out without clearing the previous plates. We had to ask for a stopper for the bottle of champagne on the table, and the response was that it would be difficult because the stopper wouldn't fit. In the end, they gave us a hermetically sealed stopper, explaining that it was the only one they had, so we shouldn't take it with us. The dessert was excellent, but poorly explained by the waiter, and what's worse, it was simply handed to us as a "here you go" gesture when the waiter moved to the other side of the table. These may seem like minor details, but when there are too many, it risks becoming a disappointment because the setting and the prices lead you to expect a different experience. A shame.

Overall, a good restaurant, superb setting, reasonable prices, and good food! Unfortunately, the service wasn't up to par. Some of the servers were very average, and at the checkout, there was no reaction, no thanks, not even a smile, including at the welcome desk, which is a real shame. Thankfully, there were a few exceptions among the staff. These are important details that will make you want to come back, or not.

One of the best sea bream I've ever eaten. The cooking was absolutely perfect, and the accompanying caponata was excellent! The setting was also incredible. All of this easily deserves 5 stars.

What can I say, everything was perfect. The setting is splendid. As a huge fish lover, I was blown away by the sea bream. It was cooked to perfection. If you walk past this restaurant and don't stop to eat there, you're really missing out. My compliments to the chef!

Magnificent terrace, especially for sunset, lovely view and gardens! Intimate atmosphere. Service a little slow (especially at first), but attentive. Delicious food and desserts!
