Restaurant La Grappe d'Or sur Riquewihr

Good food, but not for every dish! The sauerkraut was generous and flavorful. The Baeckeoffe was good, but I've had better! And the duck à l'orange was a huge disappointment! 😞 Far too many different flavors that didn't go together! Too much ginger and other spices that clashed! Revisiting classic recipes is fine, but don't overdo it! And the meat wasn't tender at all! Especially when cutting it with a knife that had no serrations... but the worst part wasn't the food, it was the service! The waiter didn't say a word, just put the glasses at the end of the table and told us to fend for ourselves! He practically threw the plates down without apologizing so we'd have room to put them down! He cleared the table without even asking if we'd finished! Seriously, you should find another line of work if you can't be at least a little polite to your customers! The owner was quite nice, but incredibly rushed! It's a shame because it ruined what could have been a pleasant experience at a restaurant.

The restaurant is a bit hidden away in a side street. We went there spontaneously one evening and got a table right by the window. The service (two women) was very friendly and the food was excellent. A real insider tip!

For our last evening in Riquewihr we had a delightful time at La Grappe d’Or. Everything about the experience was exceptional - delicious food, great ambience and friendly personalized service. The cuisine successfully mixes respect for tradition with originality. The decor is cozy and evocative of the rich history of Alsace. A great wine selection completes the picture. All in all, this is a place not to be missed during your time in Riquewihr!

Renewed our faith in French food in the Alsace area at a readonable price. Delicious! Most places offer the same boring Alsace dishes or burgers or tartes flambe with little imagination. We had the duck and the trout entrees with the hazel nut loaf and chicken liver pate - YUM!

A wonderful discovery! The service is warm and the food is divine, worthy of a Michelin star, at a very affordable price. Reservations are recommended. Highly recommended.

A wonderful restaurant. Very cozy, the service was friendly and attentive, the pork knuckle was very well prepared, and the prices were fair. I would gladly visit again.

Beautiful Alsatian restaurant! We had dinner here without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. We started with the escargots, which were delicious, and followed with the Alsatian hotpot. It was hearty and comforting. One of the highlights was the charming rustic decor with traditional touches that give it plenty of character and reflect the region's winemaking heritage. The service was friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed. Prices were typical for the region and felt fair for what was offered. Overall, a pleasant meal and a place we'd recommend if you're looking to try traditional Alsatian cuisine.
