Restaurant La Lieutenance sur Honfleur

While passing through Honfleur, we went into this restaurant and ordered the €26 set menu. Frankly, it was excellent food, the quality was very good at a more than reasonable price, but the wait was far too long, and that was on a weekday! What about on weekends? Not enough waiters or not fast enough! It's a shame, we won't be going back.

On Valentine's Day, we decided to try this restaurant in Honfleur. We received a very warm welcome from the team, who were smiling and pleasant. The meal was very good, although it was a shame they were out of stock of the promised brioche served with the foie gras, but oh well… The staff is attentive to customers (they take food allergies seriously). Unfortunately, the service wasn't quite up to scratch; our order was taken quickly, but the dishes took a long time to arrive. Perhaps there was an organizational issue with the tables on this busy evening (several servers came around with the dishes and then came back again without knowing where to put the plates). Overall, we had a good time, perhaps a little long, but we enjoyed both the service and the meal. Thank you to the team for the warm welcome.

La Lieutenance – Honfleur is a truly exceptional gastronomic restaurant, perfect for enjoying a genuine "Normandy" experience in an elegant setting. We loved the balance between technical skill and indulgence: a soup/consommé-style starter served with croutons, grated cheese, and a wonderfully flavorful sauce (incredibly comforting and expertly prepared), followed by perfectly cooked fish accompanied by a creamy risotto and an intensely aromatic sauce. The presentation was meticulous, the flavors were clean, and the cuisine remained accessible yet refined. A major plus: the atmosphere. The terrace and the view over the rooftops and the church add a touch of magic to the meal, especially at the end of the day. Attentive service and a pleasant pace ensured a comfortable experience from beginning to end.

What a delightful surprise lunch we had at this establishment in Honfleur! A warm welcome made for a wonderful start! We enjoyed a truly excellent set menu with impeccable value for money, and the service was superb, with no waiting at all! In short, this is the kind of restaurant we wish we saw more often! Well done to the entire team for your efficiency and professionalism!
