Restaurant La Maison Rouge sur Barberaz

Hotel and restaurant perfect for a stopover on the way to the Alpine resorts.

As an organizer for the Win or Win Club in Chambéry, I highly recommend La Maison Rouge. We held our second Speed ​​Meeting there, and the service was impeccable. A special mention goes to the quality of the dinner buffet; upon request, the team was able to accommodate dietary restrictions by offering gluten-free and lactose-free options. Our members and guests with these needs particularly appreciated this thoughtful touch, as it's rare for them to be able to enjoy a buffet so comfortably! As a registered dietitian-nutritionist, I am very committed to nutritional inclusivity at events, and I was delighted with this collaboration. Everything was perfect, from the seamless organization to the warm and inviting atmosphere. A big thank you to the sales representative for our communication and follow-up, to the chef for the quality of the food, and to the waitstaff for their meticulous setup. A pleasant stay at the Maison Rouge hotel. The welcome was warm and the staff friendly, which immediately put us at ease. The price is reasonable for the service, and the massages offered at the spa are truly enjoyable – a great moment of relaxation. One small point for improvement: the spa is rather small and somewhat limited; it lacks a few facilities to make the experience truly complete. As for the room, it was fine overall, but located on the road side, so unfortunately there was some traffic noise. Despite these minor details, it remains a positive stay overall.

It's a shame not to be able to sleep peacefully without the noise of the highway right next door. A room overlooking the parking lot would certainly have been quieter. The spa is a bit small and limited in terms of facilities, but quite reasonable. The welcome and service were nonetheless very good.

We spent a few days at this hotel as a couple, and we really enjoyed it! We had the opportunity to spend some quality time at the spa, which we recommend booking in advance as it's very popular! We highly recommend the restaurant!! We thoroughly enjoyed it; good quality ingredients, generous portions, and excellent staff! Breakfast offered a good selection! The only downside to our stay was the lack of information about its location; the highway is quite close, so the noise can be bothersome, so we suggest choosing a room facing the interior of the building.

The mattress wasn't great, and I was disappointed with the room, but the staff were wonderful. Thank you to the breakfast staff, they were amazing people who, despite the rudeness of some guests, were always smiling. Thank you also to the spa staff for the incredible massage. Thank you to the reception staff, always top-notch. As for the restaurant, the food was impeccable, but they could communicate a bit better amongst themselves. Overall, a very pleasant weekend nonetheless.

We went to a restaurant for my mother's 80th birthday, and we received a very warm welcome. The restaurant's setting is superb, and the service was excellent. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, and when it came time for dessert, the waiters and waitresses spontaneously brought a candle for her to blow out and sang "Happy Birthday" to my mother. It was very touching. Thank you again for this wonderful experience.

I've been coming regularly for years, and I think the quality of the food has gone down. The fries are like cardboard, the steak tartare is pre-prepared, and thank goodness for the Tabasco sauce! Last time, the chocolate mousse was like a runny Danette with no mousse at all. A little disappointed.

Wonderbox stay (night + spa + breakfast) was perfect. No complaints whatsoever.

The hotel is easily accessible by bus from Chambéry train station. The place is surprisingly spacious and warm. All wood and very cozy. We were greeted by a very charming and friendly man. However, the rest of the staff seemed unavailable and rather unfriendly (in short, if you go to reception for information, don't hesitate to clearly ask someone for help. Otherwise, you'll be left waiting indefinitely). Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready when we arrived, even though we arrived an hour after the scheduled check-in time. On the other hand, the room was spotless and the bedding comfortable. At the restaurant, although we had a reservation, we were completely ignored for 5 minutes before they even looked at us. The menu is nice, but some dishes lack side dishes in my opinion, and the hygiene of the premises wasn't great (dirty menu, crumbs on the table, filthy floor). However, the breakfast buffet is very well stocked and of good quality. The spa is lovely, and an hour is plenty as you can see everything quite quickly. I think it's worth getting a massage to enhance the experience. Overall, it was good value for money and a chance to spend a relaxing weekend, if you're not too fussy about the service.
