Restaurant La Maison Rouge sur Barberaz

The hotel is very well located, close to the main road and right in the direction of our trip, so it was very convenient. The reception staff were very helpful. The room was clean, had air conditioning, and the area was quiet. We slept very well, and it was perfect for an overnight stay during our trip.

I go to La Maison Rouge restaurant several times a month. The welcome is very warm and professional, especially with Rose and Estelle at the bar. Julien and Matisse's cooking is excellent! Highly recommended.

Top-notch stopover hotel. Good for families. Comfortable beds. Great food.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, but unfortunately the overall experience fell well short of expectations. After a long drive, we arrived just 30 minutes before check-in and politely asked if an early check-in was possible. We were told the room wasn’t ready, despite there being no other guests arriving at the time. While we understand early check-in isn’t guaranteed, there was little effort made to accommodate us. Looking for somewhere to eat while we waited, we were surprised to find the restaurant was closed for lunch. Even more disappointing, it was also closed for dinner—quite unexpected for a hotel in the middle of July during peak travel season. This left us having to leave the property to find food. Another surprise was that access to the spa and pool is not included with your stay. It costs an additional €35 per person and must be reserved in advance, which wasn’t made clear before arrival. For a hotel promoting wellness facilities, this felt like poor value and should be communicated more transparently. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. There was a great selection of fresh, high-quality food, and it was well above average. Overall, the property has potential and the surroundings are lovely, but the lack of dining availability, extra charges for the spa, and inflexible arrival experience made it difficult to feel welcome. With better communication and a stronger focus on guest service, this could be a much better destination.

A very nice hotel and restaurant. High-end services at affordable prices. Excellent restaurant and breakfast with quality products. I highly recommend it.

Excellent location, close to the highway, the rooms are large enough, the services are sufficient, plus there is a restaurant which is not bad, we will be back

Perfect for a holiday stopover, the setting is lovely and the food is excellent! The menu is limited, but the ingredients are top-notch. The room was very spacious and functional. A great experience!

A very successful romantic getaway. The room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a very relaxing hour at the spa. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant: the dishes were carefully prepared and generous. We would like to give a special mention to our waiter (on the terrace) who was dedicated to providing excellent service and helpful advice without being intrusive! We really appreciated him. A lovely experience!

We stopped by to recharge our car. The hotel is very nice and the service is excellent. They are very pleasant.
