A piece of beef ordered rare was overcooked, veal kidneys in a ridiculously small quantity, and a saddle of lamb that was overcooked and included offal with a lot of waste.

Traditional cuisine with no surprises, even sad. Hesitant service... Too many blunders from the waitress. And a sad and bland environment... a high price for the services. ...So a moment with friends, without refinement and with cuisine without surprises...

--- Sept 24 Return visit and previous review confirmed! -- Feb 23 A great place, very well located in the city center, a stone's throw from the port of La Rochelle. Good value for money. Local specialties including small grey snails. Wine list ranging from Bordeaux to Mareuil.

It's a shame, the food was very good, but the slow service was catastrophic (only 5 tables in the restaurant). 35 minutes for cold starters.

Amazing! Simply exceptional cuisine. Warm decor. Pleasant service. More than acceptable wait time. Not being from the area, I highly recommend it; otherwise, I would have kept the address to myself. Thank you to L'Aunis for this delightful experience.

Belle terrasse à l'ombre le soir, dans une rue calme près du port. Chouette accueil. Nous avons choisi le menu à 35€ entrée-plat-dessert, avec 5 choix pour chaque. Très belle présentation et délicieux. Je recommande vivement.

18/01/2026: Excellent service, the servers are smiling and friendly, and despite the crowds, the wait isn't very long 🤗 Plus, there's a beautiful view of the port. In short, we had a very pleasant time, thank you! 🤗
16/01/2026: Nice spot on the harbour. A good selection of meal deals, i had moules frites, a choc crepe and a beer for €21. Can imagine it being nice to sit outside in warmer weather

29/12/2025: A quiet restaurant amidst the hustle and bustle of La Rochelle. A very good meal, served in generous portions.
28/12/2025: Not far from the market halls and their crowded, noisy restaurants, this is a quiet spot where you can eat well. We'll definitely come back.
