A charming, modern French-style bar and restaurant. The cuisine is homemade, using mostly regional and local products. The chef is a master of the art of cooking meat. The average bill is very reasonable, and the portions are generous. Occasionally, events (board game nights and concerts) are held at the restaurant. The dining room and terrace are spacious.

Friends told us they often go to this restaurant. My husband and I tried it yesterday. It's simply delicious. The service is fantastic, the food is good, simple, and generous, and the atmosphere is great. A relaxing, easygoing, and stress-free break. We will definitely be back. A landmark establishment in Bourgoin, my home base a few years ago, and whenever I head south for my tour, I always make a point of stopping by! The cuisine is hearty and refined, prepared and served with love! Hervé also enjoys hearing his customers' opinions! Children (two young children at the time) have always been very welcome, and they're probably still playing board games. There are two dining rooms with a friendly atmosphere, plus a pleasant terrace that gets some sun from the street breeze. The best part (which deserves to be highlighted right now) is the big screen for keeping up with the news! The result? A family of happy kids! 😍 Thank you, Mot Passant Team, for this wonderful time!

The best restaurant in Bourgoin and very friendly; other restaurants should take note.

We stumbled upon this place while strolling through Bourgoin-Jallieu, looking for somewhere to eat one evening. What a wonderful discovery! Homemade cuisine, fresh ingredients, a warm welcome from the owner, and fantastic 80s rock, folk, and pop music... excellent value for money, especially the wine, a lovely St. Joseph. We went back a second night...

We had a great lunch here after a morning of moving house. They were friendly and welcoming even though it was nearly 2pm when we arrived it was not a problem for us to eat lunch. The burgers were excellent as was my plat du jour. Also the chips were delicious!! Service was very friendly and the proprietor is delightful. We will be going back!

Back to "Le Mot Passant" and it was another wonderful experience. A warm and attentive welcome immediately puts you at ease. The atmosphere truly gives the impression of "leaving home," of escaping for the duration of a meal, which is particularly enjoyable in its unpretentious setting. As for the food, we opted for a Savoyard hamburger and an andouillette sausage: two generous, flavorful, and well-prepared dishes that reflect genuine expertise. In short, an address we wholeheartedly recommend for a pleasant time over a delicious meal.

Great atmosphere, very affordable prices. The back room can accommodate a group. Simple cuisine, but delicious dishes. Homemade food. I recommend it; the owner is welcoming right up until the customer leaves. A place where we feel right at home.
