Restaurant Pfeffel sur Colmar

A traditional restaurant with a refined ambiance and a pleasant atmosphere. Extremely kind and attentive staff. Tasty and well-prepared traditional Alsatian dishes. Convenient location, close to the city center. Reservations recommended, especially during peak hours.

The location is beautiful and ideally situated at the entrance to Colmar's pedestrian zone and opposite the Unterlinden Museum. In this beautifully decorated old Alsatian house, you'll find a very pleasant atmosphere, spread across several dining rooms. The service is very quick and aims to be courteous, but seems rather overly familiar, even rushed. The selection is limited, the prices are reasonable, but it's far from fine dining. It's not a tourist trap either, but it's still quite average. The upside is that they can only improve.

Delicious little hot chocolate, very friendly staff, I recommend it!

We came to Colmar on a day trip, and after a long walk in the cold, we chose this place to find some warmth. We were greeted by David, who was very kind and funny, and served immediately. We chatted with him and Sandrine (what a great duo!) and had a good laugh. Since our bus was at 6:30 pm, we asked if we could stay at the table and stay warm for a while longer, as other seats were available. We were told yes without any problem. So thank you, because the warmth of the tea, both from within and from your heart, really warmed us up. A little message for David: I found my husband's wallet; you didn't "steal" it as you jokingly told me, hinting that we should come back to your place to get it back!! We ate at the Pfeffel restaurant, enjoying sauerkraut and flammekueche. The price was quite reasonable, and the sauerkraut was generously portioned, but the salmon flammekueche lacked toppings. Perhaps adding options for other ingredients would be helpful (I would have loved some Munster cheese on top). The Munster flammekueche was delicious. Regarding the noise level, the dining room is divided into several sections. We were seated in a quieter area, but the main room was much louder, almost unbearably so. The waitress wasn't friendly or welcoming. In contrast to the overall experience, we had a bad experience in that regard.

There was a long wait, but we were warned. We had to come back for the second seating. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We recommend it.

Fantastic place with absolutely charming staff. We were greeted by two women, a group of over 25 people. We were upstairs in a room just for us, and the service was top-notch. They were perfect. Thank you for this wonderful time.

Amazing, would recommend if you’re searching for traditional Alsace food.
