Restaurant Sépia sur Valras-Plage

Born in Valras, I return to this restaurant every year for the fresh sea bream tartare and the complexity of the dishes that make us feel pampered. Valras has been dying for a long time, which is why I'm leaving a review of my second favorite place. In a seaside resort, you don't want to spend your money on frozen food and mass-produced service. At Le Sépia, you're in the right place: gastronomic quality at the prices of the line-caught fresh fish restaurants of yesteryear. Unfortunately, I couldn't come this year during my visit, but I'm counting down the months until I can eat well again. We must support restaurateurs who maintain the love and quality of our local produce. I highly recommend it to lovers of stimulated taste buds; truly, bravo for persevering despite the changing tourism landscape. So, for those ready to enjoy a quality experience, it's simple: Le Sépia is among the three or four restaurants that still serve homemade, fresh, and affordable food. See you next year!

Thank you so much for the wonderful evening! The food was creative, exceptional, and above all, incredibly delicious. We'd love to come back again next year! Regarding the frequently mentioned wait time: Yes, it did take a while – but after all, you want to enjoy a nice, relaxing evening, not be stuck in a fast-food joint. 😉 Our eleven-year-old son also ate the entire menu and loved it.

The welcome was adequate, nothing more. The service was far too slow: starter, main course, and dessert took 2 hours and 45 minutes. That was a deal-breaker for us. The food itself was good, but it lacked that little something extra that makes all the difference (crunch, spice, etc.). It lacked originality. The monkfish was perfectly cooked, but the swordfish was way overcooked. Overall, I think this restaurant is overrated.

Le Sépia is fantastic. A very warm welcome, lovely decor, and cuisine worthy of a gourmet restaurant. The cooking and presentation of the dishes are perfect, with excellent aromas and flavors. If you want to treat yourself, don't hesitate to go to Le Sépia. Reservations are recommended.

A wonderful discovery! Refined and sophisticated cuisine, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. You can taste the work of a true chef, using high-quality ingredients. The meal was a delight from start to finish, in a pleasant setting just steps from the beach. An address we wholeheartedly recommend—we'll be back!

Finally, we were able to sample Yann's cuisine last night, and what a delightful gastronomic journey by the sea! Isabelle took excellent care of the guests while remaining discreet.
