Refuge that offers hospitality and half board and prepares lunches and dinners. There are numerous condiments in the polenta dishes offered: from cheese to sausage, to game such as deer civet. The polenta dish is part of a menu including dessert, water, coffee and cover charge, the cost of which varies depending on whether you choose a cheaper flavor or the variant with game. There is a free Wi-Fi network available to customers. The refuge can be reached from Bardonecchia via a pleasant, well-marked path in the woods which runs largely parallel to the road on the opposite bank of the river and, therefore, without noises that disturb the harmony of nature. Alternatively, you can arrive by car or by shuttle every 30 minutes during the summer season or by snowcat during the winter season.

C'est un refuge trois étoiles, nous avons fait quelques refuges français durant notre tour de la Clarée, refuge moyens voire médiocre, les repas c'était le strict minimum, de même pour le panier repas, pain sec à se casser les dents, sans compter l’accueil froid voire glacial. Le jour de mon anniversaire après avoir passé une journée rude, nous sommes arrivés au refuge et là qu'elle surprise. L’accueil hyper-chaleureux l'endroit magnifique on y trouve tout ce qu'on a besoin pour passer une bonne soirée et reprendre des forces. Le repas à couper le souffle, un apérol spritz comme apéritif, entrée plat, dessert en quantité et de qualité, le service irréprochable, ce qui m'a choqué c'est quand on remerciai les serveurs, ils nous répondaient "merci à vous", j'ai jamais entendu ça de la part d'une serveuse. Je recommande chaudement vous n'allez pas être déçu. Encore merci.

An incredible welcome. Italian hospitality in all its splendor. A magnificent setting, rich and comforting cuisine after a hard day of hiking around Thabor. It's nice to be so well received. Some shelters in Clarée should take note...

We stopped for lunch with polenta concia and venison stew. Really good although the stew was a little flavourful. But considering the price I would say it's more than good. Too bad you can only pay with cash and not cash…
