Rouge Barre sur Lille

We had the pleasure of celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary at Rouge Barre, and the evening will remain a wonderful memory. From beginning to end, everything was perfect. The dishes were as beautiful as they were delicious, with expertly balanced flavors and high-quality ingredients. Each plate reflected true expertise and meticulous attention to detail. We would also like to highlight the kindness, professionalism, and attentiveness of the entire front-of-house team. The service was impeccable, warm without being intrusive, and we felt truly welcomed. A big thank you as well for the thoughtful touches that made this very special occasion even more memorable. These small gestures contributed to making our wedding anniversary even more special. A truly wonderful restaurant that we wholeheartedly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Hello. I try to remain respectful of the employees' motivation. We're not approaching Michelin-starred levels, and thankfully, that's not the point. But I do want to say that at that price, I would have appreciated better food and wine pairing. That won't stop me from coming back.

First lunch at Rouge Barre. I really enjoyed the setting, the table, and the service... one minor complaint about the slowness at lunchtime; it took an hour for the food to arrive. When you're working, you should point that out very quickly 😉

A warm welcome from a dynamic and friendly team, who went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. The food and wine pairings were bold and successful. Freshness and deliciousness on the plate. This time, we discovered the very pleasant terrace!

We had a fine meal up until the dessert, because that was truly a jumble of different flavors that clashed completely. If they adjust that, it would be a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

We had the five course menu with the paired wine. Food was incredible, restaurant is small, intimate and a really lovely experience. The staff are super attentive and worked really hard to translate the different food and wine into English as we only had limited French. There are definitely cheaper places to eat in Lille but as an experience with fantastic quality food and wine it is definitely value for money. Would highly recommend

You enter a unique place, with a comforting aesthetic. The staff is attentive, caring, and genuinely involved. This undoubtedly contributes to the warm atmosphere. Regarding the most pressing issue, while everything isn't perfect, the food is succulent, exquisite, and truly excellent. The dishes are refined, original, balanced in flavor, and quite generous. In short, at Rouge Barre, time seems to flow differently. Definitely not to be missed!

The food was excellent, but the wine pairing service was CATASTROPHIC… a real shame! The first glass was perfect. The second glass was served after we had finished eating. The third glass never arrived. The fourth was served in a double measure to compensate (without my consent); it was the only red wine available, but it was 35°C outside, so the wine was incredibly warm—undrinkable—I had to ask them to put the glass in the fridge. Then the fifth glass arrived on time for dessert, but I drank the red wine at the same time… no gesture of goodwill whatsoever, even though I had been told there would be another glass coming to make up for the oversight. So, the fifth glass, which was due, never arrived. For them, the double pour was sufficient even though it wasn't requested or offered. I would have preferred the fifth glass as originally agreed… It's extremely disappointing because the wines were excellent, the staff friendly, and the food delicious, but the service and the fact that they forced me to order a double pour of an overly warm red wine to compensate for their mistake was unacceptable. Their tone changed when I asked about the last glass, especially since we had ordered the seven-course tasting menu and two aperitifs as starters, so in other words, it was a huge win for them (around €250 for the two of us)… The least they could have done was offer some compensation for their poor service, especially since we remained very understanding and polite throughout, while the servers kept passing the buck about who was at fault for the inconsistent wine service.
