Sampiero sur Bastia

The restaurant is nicely situated at the beginning of the fortress's forecourt in the citadel, with a limited view of the sea. Further towards the sea are other restaurants with even better views of the sea and Bastia, but these are more expensive and reservations are essential. We were a party of eight and ordered the set menu and burgers. Unfortunately, pizza wasn't available because the pizza chef wasn't there. The set menu consisted of three courses: four options for the starter and main course, and three for dessert. Dessert included a choice of three different mousses. The food was tasty, and the portions were adequate. The burgers came with fries; the portion of fries was rather small, and the meat quality was average. The set menu cost €20, and burgers ranged from €15 to €17. A quarter liter of house wine was €7 (good), and a 0.25-liter beer was €5. If you're hungry, you won't be completely satisfied. The service was friendly and fast.

We arrived late at the citadel; the other restaurants had already closed their kitchens. Luckily, they were still serving food here! Moreover, the welcome was fantastic and the food was delicious! The staff was very attentive; I highly recommend it.

A fantastic discovery! We had a wonderful time. The setting is magnificent, with a warm atmosphere and a view that perfectly showcases the Citadel of Bastia. The service was impeccable: welcoming, friendly, and very professional. As for the food, it was a real treat! The ravioli with langoustines and prawns were simply excellent, refined, generous, and perfectly cooked. A plate bursting with flavor that deserves to be savored. A truly wonderful place that I recommend without hesitation. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Located opposite the entrance to the Governors' Palace, a small local brasserie where you can eat local food, without any frills.

We went there for lunch and ordered the set menu. Very disappointed. We sent back the undercooked meat, and it came back from the kitchen exactly the same. We waited a long time. They were already completely overwhelmed. It's a shame because the place is nice. I hope it was just an off day and that they'll turn things around. Hang in there!

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant! The welcome was incredibly warm, the staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, the meal was simply superb: the dishes were generous, delicious, and made with high-quality ingredients. All this in a wonderful atmosphere in the heart of the Citadel.

Very friendly waiters. Fast service. Good and plentiful food. Beautiful location (square in front of the museum, inside the Citadel, no traffic). Affordable prices. Varied menu (from pizzas to fish and meat dishes). Convenient to book through The Fork.

The restaurant is well located, very, very good, with fresh and homemade products; the owner and his waitress are very pleasant.

My friend was feeling a bit peckish during our visit to the Citadel of Bastia. We stopped at the terrace of this restaurant-pizzeria while waiting for the Bastia Museum to open at 2 pm. The restaurant is ideally located opposite the former Governors' Palace, which houses the museum. My friend ordered a pizza. I, on the other hand, really enjoyed the red mullet salad, which was very refreshing and quite filling. The restaurant owner was friendly. His adorable little dog was chasing birds on the terrace.
