At first glance, given the restaurant's location and the crowds it attracts, you might think it's a tourist trap. And yet... this is our third time here and we've never been disappointed. Unbeatable value for money; the dishes are not only delicious but also generous. The decor is a typical yet modern take on an Alsatian winstub, making you want to share a good time with friends. As for the service, I must commend the friendliness and professionalism of the team, which make a visit to Schwendi a very pleasant experience. We'll be back!

The atmosphere was very nice...and the food was okay 😊. The service was very friendly.

I did not have anything particularly special to eat here, just a Flammkuchen nature. But it was actually very good. Personally, I liked this one better than many others I have tried: the base was slightly thicker, and it was generously topped with sour cream, onion and bacon. In several other places, Flammkuchen can be much thinner and more sparsely topped. Considering it was served on a pleasant square for €11.00, there is really nothing to complain about. What I found more interesting, though, was the Spritz du Schwendi. I am familiar with cocktails, so I wanted to try it. This spritz is not made with Prosecco, but with beer. Not uncommon but I was curious how it tasted. Usually, beer cocktails do not work that well, because beer drinkers often just want beer, not a cocktail with beer in it. But this one was actually quite nice for the first few sips. After that, the beer started to dominate a bit, and I personally do not like beer. Still, it was a well-made and interesting drink. A nice, creative variation on a spritz.

The only downside is that the tables for 2 people are small and the menus and other items take up 1/4 of the table, which is inconvenient.
