I've known this restaurant since it opened, maybe almost 20 years.
It's still decent, but I'm disappointed to see the quality decline in stages, with each change of chef and staff.
The dishes have become incredibly simple, the portions have decreased significantly, and so has the quality. There's less effort put into the flavors and seasonings; it's blander, and the fish also seemed to be of lower quality.
It's no longer really worth the price, and true connoisseurs of Japanese cuisine are bound to leave disappointed.
I hope things will turn around!

An excellent, yet still relatively unknown, spot in Boulogne. Recommended by friends, I absolutely don't regret trying this Japanese restaurant, which stands out from what I've usually experienced. Between the carefully selected ingredients and the beautiful presentation, it's truly a delightful discovery!

The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The dishes are well-prepared and made with quality ingredients. I understand the higher-than-average prices, but the portions are a bit small.

A little disappointed
Katsudon is a bowl of rice, with a little omelet and theoretically tonkatsu (breaded pork) on top. Breaded pork is supposed to be a little greasy and crispy...
I was asked if everything went well.
I made the constructive comment that it would be better to put the tonkatsu on top of the omelet (like in Japan), rather than under it, because otherwise the pork would no longer be crispy and would become mushy from the steam from the omelet.
I was told that katsudon "is just like that"... it doesn't make sense to make crispy breaded pork only to have it go limp and mushy afterwards...
It's a shame the server didn't take the comment into consideration.
The dish might have been better without it.

Clearly one of the most wonderful Japanese gastronomic experiences I've ever had!
The dishes are refined, generous, and beautifully presented... nothing to complain about!
So yes, you pay the price, but it's truly excellent!

After having defended tooth and nail the true Japanese culinary tradition against the junk food of the adulterated fish sellers who abound in Paris and the Paris region, "Sanki" embarked on the new adventure of "Shiki".
More diverse in the menu with more dishes, Shiki complements Sanki's offering well. Sanki is very “traditional”; “Shiki” a little more inventive.
