Sushi Shop sur Pau

Cheaper than supermarket sushi boxes, yet so much better. Fast service. Excellent sushi and delicious mochi!

We placed a takeaway order at Sushi Shop Pau for 6:15 pm. The order wasn't ready until around 6:30 pm. On the plus side, while we waited, the manager kindly offered us a seat and water, a nice touch. Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. We had ordered a Salmon Addict platter, Tuna Tataki Spring Rolls, Tempura Shrimp California Rolls, and Salmon Maki, for a total of €68. As soon as we opened the boxes, we noticed a problem with freshness. The avocado in most of the rolls was brown, oxidized, and clearly past its prime. The salad in the sushi and rolls was also wilted. Even the ginger packets had an unusual smell and taste; checking the expiration date, we saw that they were due to expire the next day. Beyond these issues, the entire order seemed very bland. The various sushi and rolls all tasted practically the same, lacking the expected flavors of the products we ordered. This is particularly disappointing considering the price paid. For €68, we expected fresh, high-quality products. Despite a friendly welcome while we waited, the overall experience was very disappointing and unfortunately makes us reluctant to recommend the establishment.

Delivery was perfect, very professional, excellent communication; they were very responsive whenever there was a problem with the delivery. I recommend them 100%.

I'm not too keen on the carrot of the so-called promo code for new customers that you receive by email upon your first registration (the infamous NEWS XX), which is supposed to reduce your bill by €10 on orders over €30. The code doesn't work at all; it seems more like a clever trick to force us to place an order anyway. Aside from that, I must say that the sushi is perfect, delivered on time, at a much more reasonable price than the other places.

The staff is always pleasant and the food is delicious.
