Sushi Time sur Villeneuve-D'Ascq

02/09/2024: The place is a little busy with decoration. The entrance with the life-size soldiers of the buried Chinese army suggests Chinese food. The staff is a little rude at first glance and not very cheerful. The toilets are clean and in good condition. There is no reason not to settle down. Surprise, the menu seems rather Japanese. Lots of beers on the menu, lots of sushi sold in pairs "depending on arrival in the morning". Fried noodles and rice and... Takoyaki, which is quite unusual in this type of restaurant, served by 4 instead of 6, which is also unusual. I stop at the fried beef noodles and an IPA beer on tap. The meat is nicely seared and soft inside, the vegetables are glazed and crunchy, the noodles are just right firm, and it's good. The cook knows his business with the wook. I indulge in takoyaki. A little small, well cooked on the outside, piping hot on the inside. I have trouble knowing if they are really made entirely on site, but they are clearly not reheated in the microwave. Exceptional, there is wagiyu beef on the menu... But not yet received in the kitchen. The bill at 24 euros is a little expensive, but not undeserved.
