Great bar! What an experience! Thanks to the waiter Corto for serving us even though he was on his period, but still nice.

The friendliest servers in MPT and a truly authentic setting. A must-visit!

The food looked nothing like what others have posted. A very nice waiter but the fish and chips was not good. The fish was cold. But I think it's probably great for a drink on the square on a sunny day rather than feed inside when it rains....

Correction: I've updated my review following a response from the establishment (it's true that I didn't leave a review the other times when it was positive; it's generally a very good place). As a regular at Black Cat, I was very disappointed today. We ordered a plate of cheddar fries for €6.50. The plate is usually very generous, the fries are homemade, and the melted cheddar is excellent! Today, I don't know what happened, but we received a tiny bowl of fries (floury) with a sort of salty roux; we could barely taste the cheese. The quality was truly mediocre, whereas it's usually exceptional. The infused hot chocolate, however, was excellent.

Thanks to the double toilets, which allowed my sweetheart and me to take another step towards building trust 😻

We went as a family to this restaurant in Montpellier, located on Place Candolle. The welcome was very warm, and the traditional cuisine was excellent, with a variety of tapas for starters and a superb bavette steak (butcher's cut) with pepper sauce and homemade fries. The portions were generous. They also offered a gourmet coffee with homemade pastries and a wide selection of beers. There's a lovely terrace on a sunny square in the heart of Montpellier, and indoor lounges with a pool table – in short, everything is designed for a pleasant and convivial atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ideally located, the place is lovely. The welcome and service were top-notch. Generous and original dishes at a very reasonable price. We had a wonderful family meal! A place to remember in Montpellier, which we are just discovering.
