Turbigo Sandwich sur Paris

09/07/2024: In English as my french is..below average. First of all, yes there are bouldering walls behind a restaurant. This is a bit irritating at first, but maybe everything has to be a restaurant in Paris, i don't know. I am only rating the gym part, the food might be excellent, i will never know. Entrance fee in Jule 24 with "special price" was 16€. This price is the reason for the rating. Its more or less 2.5 Stars. For that money you get around 30 meters of _only_ vertical walls. There is no overhang, no interesting structures or anything special. Nothing. That makes this the most expensive place i have ever been in four countries. A fair price would be around 5€ or so for the quick fun as we were through with everything after including some nice chats with local french people. Its in the name after all, "vertical", so only vertical walls. The difficulty was fair, no tall people only routes as far as i could see. tl;dr: price to high for what you get. The place is tiny and of low variety.

01/07/2024: Relatively spacious climbing room. We were there on a weekday evening between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and there weren't too many people. The routes are well marked and there are enough of them not to get bored. Lockers allow you to store your belongings during the session, do not hesitate to bring your padlock or ask for one at reception (they have some to lend against an ID) for added security. Big plus: the changing rooms overlook a mixed sauna where you can relax at the end of the session! Finally, there is a large bar-restaurant area at the entrance and small tapas (toast and tapenade for us) are served with the cocktails. Allow €18 for a day pass and €4 for the rental of climbing shoes (free during the first visit).
