Fantastic, excellent restaurant with a special mention for the burger!! The salmon gravlax poke bowl was also excellent. Fast and friendly service, and very affordable prices, so really great...we'll definitely be back.

Le Vieux Café is one of those rare places where time slows down in the best possible way. Tucked into the heart of an impossibly charming French village (Uzes) — the kind where the stone buildings have been standing for nearly 800 years — this café feels like a front‑row seat to the world.I could sit here for days, happily doing nothing but watching life drift by: locals chatting, travelers wandering, sunlight sliding across the plaza. The outdoor seating is perfect for settling in and letting Uzès work its quiet magic.The drinks only make it better. The wine and beer selection is excellent, with enough variety to keep you lingering longer than planned. I had a Chouffe and a Fada — both absolutely hit the spot and somehow made an already beautiful day feel even better.There’s something special about this place. It’s simple, it’s authentic, and it’s exactly what you hope to find when you wander into a small French village: a café that becomes a memory. A very good day indeed.

Good brasserie-style food, attentive, efficient and friendly service. Pleasant street-front terrace, so a bit noisy, but nice for watching the city go by.

A huge thank you to Véronique and her magnificent long, curly blonde hair, and to her staff. Excellent welcome, wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, a very varied menu with flavors to suit all tastes. We often meet up with friends there and share our Provençal and Cévennes stories. Superb terrace. Many thanks! Thierry, the 70-year-old from the Camargue. Hello to my very cultured old friend, Amar.

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, as we only had a few beers there. The service was friendly, at least from the male waiters; the young waitress still has some learning to do, but I'm sure she'll get there.

Excellent service and very fresh food. I arrived late at night in late March with a Mistral infused town and not many places open. Le Vieux Cafe (brasserie and bar) was humming with life, full of locals, families, expats, young and old for dinner, conviviality and really good food. I had the trout, and enjoyed the experience so much, I returned the next night. I sat next to a couple who ordered the steak dinner, which looked and smelled amazing, and on the other side a table of 10 locals ritually gathering for dinner, and on the other side, two tables full of children and families at ease in this local institution. By 7:30, there was a line out the door of French residents, clearly a favorite.

Our first trip to this beautiful should I say city or town? Easy to get around with road in a circle with the many shops and restaurants arrayed on it and interior streets leading to the centre. We chose to try Le Vieux Cafe and were pleasantly surprised by our service and the charcuterie we ordered. We tried 2 red and 1 white and loved 2 out of 3. The platter was enough for 4 people and because I didn't think we could take anything home I ate way more than I normally would. The meats and cheeses were excellent and of course served with sliced baguette. We are staying a few kms away and will be coming back for to try so else. We have 4 stars for food because we didn't taste something else but what we had was 5 stars!! Muchas Gracias visitors from Mexico.

08/03/2026: We had a fantastic time at Les Insolents. It's a small restaurant where you feel right at home. From the service to the wine selection and the food itself, everything is just right and, above all, absolutely delicious. There are always plenty of vegetarian options. Don't hesitate, come and try it!

18/06/2026: We've been to Café Ernest in Uzès several times and, until now, we've always been very satisfied. The service has always been impeccable, thanks in particular to the two gentlemen in black T-shirts, Xavier and Damien, who are consistently pleasant, professional, and welcoming. The brasserie-style cuisine is also a real highlight: the dishes are high-quality, well-prepared, and we've never been disappointed during our various visits. Unfortunately, during our last lunch, an employee was particularly unpleasant. Some of his inappropriate remarks made us uncomfortable and significantly disrupted our meal. Making customers feel like you don't enjoy serving them is all the more regrettable. It's a shame, because it marred a pleasant lunch in the sun on the terrace, in a friendly and welcoming setting where we usually come with pleasure to enjoy good food and quality service. We hope that this is an isolated incident and that the hospitality which has always been the hallmark of the establishment will remain up to our previous experiences.
