15/09/2024: Conosco il ristorante Santa Maria da diverso tempo e si conferma un’eccellenza di Calvi. Situato sotto la cittadella, si caratterizza per un’atmosfera accogliente e piacevole. Favoloso il polpo alla mediterranea piatto forte del menù del locale. Eccellenti anche gli spaghetti alle vongole. Ottimi i desserts. Consigliato.

29/08/2024: We booked ahead to get a dinner table on our first full day back in Corsica once more so keen were we to go. Expectations were largely but mot wholly met. On their Menu Corse they used to have fish soup with all the croutes, rouille, grated cheese etc etc but not now...on offer is Corsican soup ( bit like minestrone ...) which though nice was just not the same.! It is for this that I dropped a blob... Otherwise the food is very good and the ambience is great in this prime spot. Wonderful to see our waiter from 10 years back still there...his name is Brett ( not very French? ) Anyway he is from Aix-en-Provence and has apparently worked at the Santa Maria for 40 years! Incredible and all power to him..a great guy and super to find him still there. Prices are perfectly reasonable and plenty of locals go...so all good. TT recommended then ( I am pretty sure) and I absolutely reiterate this advice. Good Corsican wines!!
