Maison Weibel is the story of a craft passed down through generations since 1954. Enjoy their pastries and calissons, as well as their artisanal ice cream and chocolates, in their tea room or at your events. Thanks to their recipes and high-quality products, they enjoyed great success in the city for many years. Their son, Nicolas, succeeded them in 1988 after being awarded the title of master chocolatier, ice cream maker, pastry chef, and confectioner. Maison Weibel is located near the Résidence Pasteur.

The pastries (Swiss brioche and almond croissant) were delicious. However, we would have appreciated a warmer welcome and a few smiles… It's a shame because it doesn't really make us want to come back and sit on the terrace here!

We go there for breakfast (outside on the terrace or inside) because it's primarily a pastry shop (an Aix-en-Provence institution) that also serves as a tea room. The quality is generally very good, but two things are a shame: the fried eggs are far too overcooked (in my photo outside, you can see it's actually dry), and since everything is served all at once (it's certainly more convenient to serve), some hot items are cold when you eat them (unfortunately, in my case, it's the egg that suffers because I eat it last). The coffee is very good, as are the granola and pastries. On the terrace—at least on the side facing the square—the lively view is very pleasant, and you can catch the sun. It's a square where the market is held (Place Richelme). Since Aix-en-Provence's city center is pedestrianized, there are no vehicles except for the small city shuttles (which are electric, so there are no exhaust fumes). Of course, if you have a car, you'll need to park nearby. The tables are crowded both inside and out. And they're small. Breakfast is served on wooden trays, which either overhang the edge of the table or are tiered: you're cramped and have to be careful not to spill your tray. For wheelchair users (PRM), like myself: access to the shop is via a slight ramp, so there's no problem. It's pleasant, especially in Aix. The restrooms are accessible and adapted (there's a grab bar on the wall). Just one minor drawback: the tables are close together, so it's not really clear how to position your wheelchair or even how to access certain tables, and also how not to cause a disturbance afterwards (inside you have to move other customers around).

A beautiful, pleasant, and charming place. I was completely won over by this wonderful discovery! I opted for the vegetarian dish, the veggie tagine, which was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. It was accompanied by a delicious cake and an equally excellent tea—a truly delightful experience from beginning to end. All this for 17 euros, with generous portions: excellent value for money, truly remarkable. An address I highly recommend, both for the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere.

The strawberry cake is a real treat, the pastries in general offer excellent value for money, and the taste is superb. Go ahead and indulge!
