A quick stop during a trip with my partner, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service and the food, both of which were as charming and enjoyable as the setting itself.
A calm and intimate atmosphere, ideal for a candlelit dinner for food lovers! 🍽️😁
Special mention for being open until 4 pm.

In a small, very welcoming setting, dining here was a superb culinary experience. The dishes are beautifully prepared and presented, a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Speaking multiple languages is a real plus in this restaurant, and we were able to experience a glimpse of the quality of service in English and German.
We truly appreciated the high standards of customer service and will gladly return if the opportunity arises.

I ordered sauerkraut that was tasteless and bland (it must have been over-drained). I told the waitress! I'm still waiting for a response from the kitchen… For a Wistub, this is appalling. My son had a ham hock which was very good. And the crème brûlée was excellent. How can the Michelin Guide give such a favorable review?!

Come with an appetite and don't expect spa cuisine here...This is real stick to your ribs stuff and depending on what you order you might be in for some " heroic eating " as the great friend of the table , poet and writer Jim Harrison used to say of a big boy meal.
Certainly my tasty " wine makers "salad , if you could call it a salad , of sausage and cheese followed by a beautifully roasted knuckle of pork nearly put me under the table.. Luckily the excellent bottle of local riesling helped wash it down ...though it was hit and miss for a while...
My wife on the other hand chose a more cautious route and very much enjoyed her onion tart ( it looked and ate more like a quiche than any onion tart I'd ever seen ). Her fish was also very pretty and perfectly cooked... a more forgiving meal to be sure...
Lots of people were ordering the escargot and the steak, which was probably a great choice...
If they bring you a bottle of water note that it's not free... You can ask for a carafe of water and it is by French law.. but check that they don't charge you for the bottle.. like we discovered too late...
Other than that , service was prompt and friendly.

A superb experience at Wistub Brenner! My partner and I went at 2 pm and the welcome was perfect. The girls who greeted us were lovely, smiling, and incredibly attentive. As for the food, the dishes were simply delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Colmar or in the area. Don't hesitate, go to this restaurant without hesitation!
