It's only around an hour's drive from the center of Basel to the idyllic Ribeauvillé, just outside the city of Colmar. The cuisine is closely linked to the gourmet region close to the Swiss border. For example, the cook deconstructs the inevitable tarte flambée and reassembles it from onion and bacon compote, quark foam and tarte flambée dough powder. Great.

Personally I loved the place in the beautiful village of Ribeauvillé and the setting of the authentic and warm restaurant. For the dishes, the cuisine is generous and tasty. Just a small downside on the presentation of the trout in brick pastry slips. I would have preferred trout meunière but it’s just a question of taste. As for the service.... then yes it's a bit directive. For example, not a minute of delay is allowed when making reservations, but there are plenty of customers. This is normal.... What is more annoying are the shared tables but I had been warned so..... it's just a policy that bothers me a little For the rest we were very well received and well served. I will come back with pleasure

Thank you for this beautiful place with its shared tables which are surprising at first but which during the meal allow exchanges and beautiful encounters, to be discovered. But we must not forget the culinary quality, very well recommended but above all very well eaten!

We ate in this magnificent restaurant, the staff were friendly and very well received. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly. The cuisine is a delight, homemade with very good produce. I recommend it to you.

Service au top pour une cuisine locale très bien exécutée. Le cadre est rustique mais bien entretenu, les chaises en bois pas les plus confortables mais on ne reste pas trop longtemps car le service est efficace. Le choix de la carte est bon et les prix corrects. Un bel endroit à recommander .

Sonntag zum Mittagessen. 3 Gänge 30 Euro. Schnecken waren super, auch der Wurstsalat. Hühnchen in cremiger Sauce mit hausgemachten Spätzlen und das Chaucroute waren super lecker und auch das Dessert. Klare Empfehlung. Freundliche Bedienung nettes typisches Interieur!

29/09/2024: Vi kom med store forhåpninger, og ble skuffet. Fin beliggenhet og interiør. Dessverre skuffet kjøkkenet stort. Med gjennomstekt sirloin og slapp pommes frites. Servitørene var veldig hyggelige og det trakk opp litt. Ville valgt en annen restaurant.
19/07/2024: The host family is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very modern and comfortably furnished, the bathroom is an absolute highlight with a rain shower! We spent two days here and I can highly recommend it. The kitchen is absolutely brilliant. Creative, with a high level of expertise and daily dish surprises at a very high level - at a fair price - for this quality! The service was very friendly, simply TOP. The boss personally takes care of the wine service in the evening - an inspiration given the family's workload to bring everything under one roof. This time I'm deliberately not leaving any photos as they wouldn't do justice to the experience. We would be happy to come back and wish all employees and the host family many more wonderful moments and continued success for the future.
