28/09/2026: The restaurant was empty, the terrace was empty, we wanted to have a drink at noon, but we were told it was a restaurant, not a bar, and refused service. Not good business practice. As a result, we'll never go back. It's a real shame.
23/09/2026: While visiting the region with a group of friends, we booked a Bourbonnais meal to sample the local dishes. Everything went very well! The cuisine was generous and inventive, offering excellent value for money. The service was efficient and friendly. You can go there with complete peace of mind, which is reassuring for a group. Thank you, Mr. Miranda!

30/08/2026: We were greeted with the usual warmth of this type of restaurant and discovered a decor that perfectly complemented the welcoming atmosphere; I'll let you experience it for yourselves. The food, as home-style as the staff, was excellent. It's a shame, on this Sunday evening, that they were out of homemade mochi.
On the plus side: we made a great discovery after our unfortunate experience at Buffalo Grill.

19/08/2026: The best bar in Montluçon! Najat (the manager) is exceptional. She's the bar manager, bouncer, and waitress—she can do it all, especially when it comes to entertainment.
The welcome is fantastic; I almost want to spend all day there. Come one, come all! The adjacent square is full of surprises (including the castle).

29/09/2026: We went to Patapain and ordered the €4.90 Smile menu (Lulu or Lili sandwich, potatoes, water or tea, muffin or donut). The potatoes were out of stock, so we were charged individually. You had a stock shortage, and we're supposed to pay more for one less item? On top of that, the manager was incredibly rude; it was ridiculous, the worst I've ever seen. Paying €8.10 instead of €4.90 when an item was missing is unheard of, you bunch of incompetents!

Just one drawback: we bought apricots and peaches in plastic trays, and they didn't keep at all; the next day they were completely limp.
Really disappointed.
Next time we'll go to Grand Frais.

Very generous portions, beautifully presented. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, well worth the price. A warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed.
05/10/2026: The service was average on a Saturday night. We ordered a sharing platter for the four of us, and the bread finally arrived when we'd almost finished it. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre white wine, which wasn't chilled (we had to ask for ice), and a bottle of mineral water that we had to ask for again later because the waitress had forgotten it. Finally, the spoon provided for one of the desserts wasn't properly washed. It's a shame because the food was very good and the setting is lovely.
