It was really delicious, and the service was lovely.
It was also nice to see a restaurant open in the middle of winter: the village was quite quiet.

17/12/2025: Traveling in August in a campervan near Lake Chaudanne, we cycled to this restaurant, which had received good reviews, for dinner. Indeed, it deserves 6/5 for the quality of the dishes (freshness, taste, presentation) prepared by the chef and the simple, friendly service from his wife. We thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions of everything homemade and had a wonderful evening with this lovely couple... Thank you again!

A very pleasant surprise; the food was generous and refined.
We were even offered baked oysters as an appetizer 😊
A true delight, from the starter to the dessert.
Congratulations to the chef 👌😁

03/02/2026: Avoid unless you enjoy passive smoking
Visited twice during our stay in Castellane.
During our second visit we were assailed by cigarette smoke from an adjoining table.
The Evin law prohibits smoking on a terrace that is totally or partially covered and closed on several sides, as it is considered an indoor space. The ventilation in this space was not sufficient for the dinining area at this establishement to be considered an open space.
The proprietor was totally dissmissive of our complaint.
22/11/2025: A classic in Castellane, in late autumn it's practically the only restaurant open.
Friendly and professional service.
A wide selection on the menu. Good value for money.

29/10/2025: Always a warm welcome. Fast and perfect service. Parking in front of the restaurant. Free in the evening. Very good pizza 🍕.
25/10/2025: The ice creams are exquisite. The vanilla, by the standard meter, took me back more than 45 years.
This artisanal quality had disappeared from my radar, my flavors, and my taste buds.

12/11/2024: Nice owners and a clean hotel; however, there was a sewer smell coming from the bathroom in my room which I couldn't get rid of despite my attempts including airing out the room in the middle of November. Unfortunately I had to sleep with my room smelling like this.
07/11/2024: We are not very restaurant-oriented because we are often disappointed and yesterday at lunchtime, wanting to treat ourselves, we randomly came across this one and were delighted by the welcome and the abundant and succulent daily menu.
The lady is of Portuguese origin and we visited her beautiful country by bike.

12/10/2024: Era quello che mi serviva come base di partenza per visitare in moto le Gole del Verdon, un luogo vicino e con un posto sicuro per la moto. Camere piccole ma funzionali, con tutto quel che serve, parcheggio tranquillo per la moto e colazione più che soddisfacente, europea/intercontinentale. Soddisfatto senza rilievi particolari.
17/09/2024: arrêt par hasard dans cette jolie auberge alors que nous faisions la route Napoléon .
Déjeuner dans un charmant jardin avec des plats raffinés et goûteux dignes d'un grand chef pour un prix trés raisonnable ; excellente cuisson des poissons .
Service sympa .
un signe : le restaurant était complet pour le service du soir .
Si nous n'habitions pas trop loin ( la Rochelle ) , ce serait parmi nos favoris .

17/09/2024: We arrive at noon, at 12:35 I am told that the tartiflette is still cooking 🤣 is this a joke?
And the waiter who answers me if you have an appointment, you should not eat at the restaurant! thank you for the advice, keep your tartiflette... at 12:35 p.m. we came home for lunch and saved €55
Reading the comments, I see that we are not the only ones to complain about the wait...
Remember to question yourself!

27/07/2024: Afgaande op de reviews, dacht ik hier lekker te kunnen eten. Het tegendeel was waar. Het eten was smakeloos en het 'aziatisch' rundvlees smaakte naar stoofvlees. We hoorden trouwens de magnetron die het vlees opwarmde, het was dan uiteraard droog. Nog nooit zo slecht aziatisch gegeten. Mijn inziens is deze zaak door 2 jonge dames overgenomen is die niet dezelfde passie meedragen als de vorige eigenares.

05/10/2024: Purtroppo non riconosco le foto dei piatti recensiti, nulla da dire al personale (tra l altro tutto italiano) gentilissimo e simpaticissimo, ma i primi non sono sicuramente per noi italiani...pasta scotta e sugo insipido e dolciastro, forse si salva il secondo...l unica spiegazione che sia cambiato il cuoco...

26/08/2024: Bonne organisation et de bons produits, nous étions satisfaits. Il y avait un peu d'attente mais c'était normal car nous sommes arrivés lors du rush d'après midi.
11/08/2024: Brilliant day out at a crystal clean swimming lake. Rent pedalled, loungers and paddle boards. Lovely vibe, great fun and snack bar with good food. Huge car park.
