04/11/2023: A nice, typically French, 2-star hotel on the market square in Castellane. slightly rocky but with charm. My room would probably be a bit small for 2, but for me it was just enough with all the motorbike stuff (the sliding bathroom door only opens fully if you move the desk a little away from the wall). Some things are already rustic (towel holder in the bathroom just leaning against the wall, toilet paper holder made of square steel creaked together), but the windows and bathroom tiles were relatively new. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the cleanliness of the rooms. The staff are almost exclusively young people and, with one exception, very friendly. Beautiful outdoor area behind the building, including parking spaces for cars, motorcycles and trailers. You can also park easily on the street behind the hotel and there is also a free public parking lot 200 m away. The Verdon flows directly next to the road. Beautiful view of the landmark of Castellane, the rock with a chapel. The breakfast buffet is for 2 stars and French. Conditions can be rated as very good. The hotel's own restaurant is definitely very good and recommended. Unfortunately, not everything was available during my stay at the end of the season. There are also plenty of other locations of various quality levels in town. But even here, not everything is open at the end of the season. All in all, Castellane and the petite Auberge were a very good location for the tours for our motorcycle week, whether to the sea, towards the Alps or the Verdon Gorge. There are enough destinations and routes.

29/09/2023: From my personal experience it is the best place to eat in Castellane. Few dishes but simple and good. Tasty and very soft lamb. The spaces are a little small.

21/09/2023: A delight. We feel that everything is homemade and well done. The lamb shoulder is a delight, the pork cheek too and I’m not talking about the chocolate fondant and the crème brûlée which are excellent.

01/03/2024: Passing through Castellane, came across this bakery quite by chance. Very good small spelled baguette at a ridiculous price, excellent goat cheese fougasse, succulent local pastries, very warm welcome. Do not pass by Castellane without paying a visit, you would miss out on an unforgettable moment

16/10/2023: We ate last night with our baby. Intense pleasure! The dishes are exquisite, the flavors are combined with delicacy and taste. The plates are garnished to perfection, we leave the establishment with a full stomach but without the feeling of "having eaten too much" which is very appreciable, exactly what is needed, well done! A successful little romantic Sunday evening meal, thank you! The welcome is also really very appreciable. Very fair prices

04/04/2024: Positive : Well located establishment, decent welcome, very nice little waitress, decent breakfast Negative : Room not insulated, we could hear people talking, urinating, and walking on the stairs and room doors slamming, Quite a naughty dog ​​who barks a lot. Very hard bedding, not pleasant at all.
