When the new owners took over the business in 2024, we rushed to order. However, we were very disappointed; the portion of fries was small (the packaging was completely flat). The burger was just like the previous ones. So, a disappointing experience.
Months passed, and we decided to give them another chance. The burgers were good (although the green peppercorn sauce wasn't quite there in the Beatles burger), and this time the portion of fries was decent.
The garlic sauce that comes with the fries doesn't have a very strong garlic flavor and is more like mayonnaise, so I recommend the tartar sauce instead.
Review May 2024. The very first time, we were won over by the excellence of the burgers and fries: perfectly soft brioche bun, excellent beef, delicate sauce… The burgers were indulgent but well-balanced, and the homemade fries were to die for (we even dreamed of a bottomless cone!). Unfortunately, the initial success didn't pay off. On two other occasions, we ordered burgers and fries, and it's clear that the taste was no longer there: bland burgers, meat cooked to perfection (well-done instead of rare), fries too dark, and, most importantly, quickly reheated in a bath of oil. This lack of consistency is a major disappointment (hence the 3/5 rating).

A truly wonderful spot for literature lovers: little handwritten magazines placed on top of the books, making you want to discover everything. Novels, thought-provoking books on many fundamental issues of our time, graphic novels, humor, and excellent chai tea!

The portions were generous and very satisfying; you definitely won't leave hungry! 07/12/2025: Good evening, I can't understand how, with a €101 order, we have to come back four times because something is always missing.
It's a shame, there's not enough professionalism.
Furthermore, when we're called in to pay, we feel like we're bothering you and yawn in front of you—great customer service!
Otherwise, the food itself is fine.

A soggy burger with a ridiculously tiny, overcooked patty, stuck to the bun with a square of cheese that was also overcooked.
Otherwise, the bun wasn't bad.
Soggy, brown fries, overcooked (to get that result: a single frying in oil that was too long and not hot enough).
In short, not good. And I'm from the North of France, I know my fries.
€30 for a burger meal with extra bacon (also overcooked. Seriously...) and a large order of fries without a drink + another large order of fries.
Very, very expensive for what it is.
I absolutely do not recommend it. I was looking for a replacement for the excellent burgers and fries at Phil Pizz, well, Burger Café isn't going to be it.
01/07/2026: This will be the last time we eat these Burgess fries.
Mine was cold despite having bought it 5 minutes earlier... the fries were far too soggy with oil, it felt like eating oil-flavored fries... a huge disappointment.

The waitress was attentive and provided excellent service. A great place for family meals, even with young children.

21/05/2026: I'm still looking for the chicken marinade. The fries weren't good, and the sauce I chose (I always get the same one in every taco/kebab I eat, no matter where) seemed expired. This resulted in a stomach ache and indigestion. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I've never had any problems with the Subway concept; I had one right at the foot of my tower block on Place Strasbourg. It had become my son's favorite restaurant. At the same time, my sister and I were watching the TV series Chuck, which was sponsored by the Subway chain.
Yesterday, I wanted to do things the old-fashioned way: get a 12-inch sandwich cut in half and share the drinks with my two nephews (so 15 cm each). There must have been some confusion because, yes, the nephew ordered the strawberry water and the fruit compotes. I ended up with a bill of €21.40 for two meals! With barely two vegetables in each.
I know they have smaller portions, etc., but the 12-inch sandwich, cut in half, with 10 cl of drink each would have been enough.
A bit of a hiccup, considering I was babysitting for my sister and had to send the bill.

Around 6 PM, we ordered a milkshake and a drink. We were served a Happy Meal we hadn't ordered in addition to our order. No one touched the Happy Meal, and one of your employees came over and started yelling at us in a borderline insulting and vulgar tone, accusing us of dishonesty. He then addressed me informally and criticized me for using the informal "tu" with him in return. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant; avoid it at all costs. The staff is rude and made offensive remarks.
24/07/2026: Unpleasant service; we were verbally attacked because we opened an order that they had mistakenly given us without our knowledge.
