06/12/2025: Always a pleasure to visit Léon's! Our waiter Jojo was very pleasant and smiling. Our dishes arrived very quickly, and the mussels and fries were delicious and fresh!

05/02/2026: I love this pub!! Great selection of draft beers at very reasonable prices, especially during happy hour when beers are €4 to €6 from 5 pm to 7 pm! What I love is that the beers change regularly, which lets you try new ones!! Cozy atmosphere reminiscent of real pubs, and a very friendly welcome!

03/02/2026: Visited La Barbote several times over our stay in Montpellier, really good beers(5*), excellent friendly service and great busy vibe (happy hour great value between 5-7pm). We only ate once, very tasty smash burger and as proud Canadians had to try the poutine, fries good, cheese not traditional curds but did get gooey, and gravy was a little too sweet. All in all a great very popular microbrewery. Reservation recommended for anytime after 6:30pm (when the kitchen opens).

17/03/2026: I deducted one star because the fries were clearly frozen. If they had been homemade, the 5 stars would have been well deserved, as we thoroughly enjoyed the Fish and Chips. We had heard good things about it for some time, so we tried it and will gladly return to try other dishes, including the typical English breakfast that looked so tempting on our neighbor's plate. 01/03/2026: Rude waitress. It was our first time at this bar, we stumbled upon it by chance. We ordered hot chocolates and a cappuccino, which were nothing special, for €3.50 (they had no flavor). Then we stayed a while to play cards without ordering anything else until 7:30 pm. The waiters were pushy (three of them came to ask if we wanted to order again), and one waitress finally told us, in a cold and nonchalant tone, "Okay, you finish your game and you leave." We couldn't believe it. I should mention that the bar was empty. We would have been understanding if they had asked us politely and if it had been justified to seat other customers. In short, disappointed, which is a shame.

12/11/2025: I was very disappointed with this bar the last time I went there with my friends. The people who run this bar have huge beer steins like the ones you see in German pubs, and they keep them in drawers in plain sight of their customers, but they refuse to serve us from them, claiming that these large steins are reserved for special customers. I think that's unfair; any customer should be able to be served from these steins as long as they have enough money to pay for them.
