11/06/2026: This was my 6th or 7th visit to this place, and unfortunately it was by far the worst experience I’ve had here. I visited with my parents and went to order three teas at the counter. We were told that everything was out of stock, which can happen, and normally I would have understood. What was unacceptable, however, was the attitude of one staff member. When I asked in French, “Vous avez du thé ?” (Do you have tea?), the staff member deliberately or carelessly interpreted it as “Can you have tea?” and responded in a dismissive manner rather than simply answering the question. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and condescending. Throughout the exchange, I got the impression that we were being treated as if we were inconveniencing the staff just by being there. As customers, we expect basic courtesy and respect, regardless of whether an item is available or not. I have visited this restaurant several times before and never experienced anything like this. It was particularly disappointing because I was with my parents, and the staff’s behavior left a very negative impression on all of us. Running out of products is one thing; treating customers with disrespect is another. Sadly, this visit completely changed my perception of this place.

27/04/2026: It's impossible not to fall in love with Le Chanteclair. Even on your first visit, you already feel like a regular. The atmosphere is exactly what you look for in a true Lyonnaise brasserie: warm, relaxed, and unpretentious. The verdant decor, with its flowers hanging from the ceiling, is a delightful surprise and gives the room a wonderful charm. As for the food, the chef doesn't go in for frills—and that's a good thing. The dishes are generous, straightforward, and well-executed. The burrata pesto starter was divine: creamy, fresh, with a perfectly flavored pesto. For the main course, the sea bream was cooked to perfection, meltingly tender inside and golden brown just the right amount. Simple yet expertly crafted flavors, like a Proustian madeleine with every bite. A very special mention goes to Soline, our waitress—simply exceptional. She recommended the burrata and the sea bream, and she was absolutely right! Smiling, attentive, and incredibly efficient even during the busiest times, she made our evening truly memorable with her infectious good humor and perfect knowledge of the menu. The kind of rare waitress who makes all the difference. The rest of the team is just as dynamic and cheerful—you can tell everyone is enjoying themselves, and it's palpable throughout the restaurant. The covered terrace on Boulevard de la Croix-Rousse is ideal for observing the neighborhood at any time of day, and the wine list by the glass is very reasonably priced. This is a place we'll definitely return to and recommend to anyone who wants to experience the authentic spirit of Croix-Rousse. Well done to the whole team, and thank you, Soline!
25/04/2026: Very disappointed: The service was subpar, the table and glasses were dirty and scratched. Furthermore, the menu shown on the official website was completely different from the one in the restaurant. It used to be better.
