05/04/2024: The place has incredible decoration on the walls. But going to the bathroom is chaos. There are only two, it changes for women and men so they are full and poorly cared for.

20/03/2024: It's been years since I've been here. I went back with my family and I was not disappointed at all. Perfect French food (with a few surprises like the celery terrine), excellent service and even with people, not too noisy.
Go there with your eyes closed.

05/04/2024: We stopped for some drinks and a small plate of nachos so didn't try and full menu. However the nachos were amazing - proper corn chips for a start which was unexpected!
Drinks were really good value during "happy hour" and the servers were really friendly and nice! Would definitely come back when next in Paris.

The service was attentive and courteous, contributing to a very pleasant overall experience. As an Italian food enthusiast, I was delighted to discover Les amis de Messina and I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves good food. My rating for this restaurant is 4 stars, due to the quality of the dishes and the welcoming atmosphere there, but also for the slight wait to be served. An essential address for a gourmet getaway in Paris!
31/03/2024: The vision of the half-dead mouse, cut in two, which managed to escape from its trap was not the best effect. Just like the staff who was quick to say that “it was normal in Paris” it was “cute” and that “it’s okay, she’s almost dead” there’s nothing wrong with it. get offended…. Well sorry but I almost returned everything at the end of the meal 🤢

01/04/2024: After having consumed more than €100 in this establishment, we were forced to leave in a hurry because of the unacceptable behavior of the owner.
Indeed, after placing a new order for less than €12 per card for bread because I had not finished my cheese board (even though it is free everywhere in France), he expelled us in a rude manner and humiliating, treating us like nothing, simply because we wanted to pay by card.
This behavior is not only disrespectful towards customers, but also discriminatory towards people who do not have cash.

I strongly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a friendly and warm place to have a good time.
Alternatives:
Corcorance's Bar, next door, is a great alternative for Irish bar lovers.
There are also many other bars in the area that will welcome you with respect and professionalism.
Conclusion :
The boss needs to question himself, he's just a poor bitter guy, angry with the world and making everyone pay for it for no reason.
It would be better to change your profession or your personality because it does not correspond to your activity.

27/03/2024: A bar which bears the name of a great guitarist and singer (James Hetfield, Metallica.) What a surprise to hear Jul when I came. Not to mention the bouncer and the boss who was far from friendly.

05/04/2024: After ordering three drinks for tea time, we were refused permission to share a palm tree purchased from the nearby baker. The waiter reprimands us in front of the audience on the terrace, insulting us: "if you're not happy you can leave!!!"
This is a first for us who are Parisians! Such a welcome, never seen before!!!
A deplorable attitude from this server!!

The excellent meal (à la carte), the friendly atmosphere and looking forward to returning. The boss is really nice too.
