20/02/2026: Run, run away! Absolutely no politeness in the service, and over half an hour for dessert (ice cream and chocolate mousse). Not much space for customers, but rather a focus on quickly cleaning the dining room. What is the world coming to? Shameful.

When Googling gluten free in Alpe d'Huez Smithy's Tavern is always at the top, and there is a reason for that.
There were plenty of options for veggies, gluten free diets, and those with coeliac, the staff are knowledgeable to cater for all; options include burgers and fajitas.
I had the Macho Nacho burger with salt n vinegar fries! The burger was so meaty and tasty, the bun was so good and soft! The fries -insanely good.
Staff were really lovely, friendly and attentive.
I would recommend booking, luckily we were able to get a table as a walk in when they first opened but it got busy quickly.

11/02/2026: An excellent restaurant, discovered somewhat by chance, where we return every time we go to Grenoble. The menu is limited, which for us is a sign of quality; the food is excellent, and we always receive a very warm welcome. I recommend it without hesitation.

As beautiful as it was delicious! The ambiance, the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the cooking, the harmony of flavors, the attentive and discreet service, the price... Everything was perfect, a true delight!
I'll definitely be back!
(Plus, they change their lunch menu every week, using only fresh ingredients!)

I waited 15 minutes at 12 p.m. I said hello three times, the man looked at me and ignored me.
The reception was catastrophic.
22/09/2025: I often eat with family and takeaway. It's delicious, very well-stocked, very well-cooked, the meat is of high quality, and most importantly, the staff have impeccable hygiene. This snack bar is PERFECT. Thank you for your quality and professionalism. I recommend it to everyone with my eyes closed.

02/09/2024: Nous étions 5 amis a manger pour mon anniversaire samedi soir et nous avions très très très bien manger.
Les prix sont dans l'ensemble raisonnable, appart les desserts, environ 7€.
Un peu trop d'attente a la prise de commande, mais l'attente en vaut le coup.
Je vous conseil le resto si vous voulez bien manger sur Grenoble !!

Approche intéressante présentée dans la carte, et bien appliquée pour les viandes : nous avons commandé 4 viandes différentes et personnes n'a été déçu. Un bémol sur les desserts, plutôt "industriels".
Côté service, équipe sympa et souriante, mais un manque de rigueur "collectif" : un malentendu sur la commande à l'apero, le vin commandé oublié, les viandes en rupture de stock non annoncées... des petites choses à résoudre pour parfaire ce beau concept !
