28/09/2024: Excellent cuisine, very friendly and attentive staff, all in quick service. We even take leftovers in case we don't finish the plate! The possibility of ordering pizzas (excellent and plentiful) is pure joy. I highly recommend. 👌👌👌

21/09/2024: I recently dined at L'Escalet restaurant and was very disappointed with the experience. I ordered octopus and polenta, but the octopus totally lacked flavor, and the polenta was a mess, completely liquid. It is surprising that such a poorly prepared dish is served. In addition, no atmosphere is created by the restaurant. They seem to take advantage of the setting of the port of La Ciotat, attracting tourists thanks to the night market, without worrying about the quality of their offer. These visitors will leave without even knowing the flavor of good polenta. The service was not up to par either. We were placed in a corner, not really taken care of, and the waiter spent his time making jokes about the tourists, rather than focusing on the customers present. It would have been more appreciable if he invested more, especially towards local customers who expect a minimum of quality on their plate. To top it off, when choosing desserts, we were assured that everything was homemade. Unfortunately, the dessert we chose was covered in industrial whipped cream, which was very disappointing. In summary, Escalet no longer meets expectations, both in terms of quality of dishes and service. I no longer recommend this address.

08/12/2024: Incredibly good, a pure delight. Everything is beautiful and good. Very pleasant welcome. Beautiful sunny terrace with beautiful view. A very pleasant moment.

09/11/2024: If you haven't yet tried the praline brioche, then go for the swimmer, because once you have tasted this brioche, you become addicted!

16/08/2024: Superb welcome and excellent Couscous, the quantities are at the top. Naima very welcoming and the delivery man very friendly. I highly recommend for your meals at home with friends. 02/09/2024: Pleasant restaurant by the water. A complete menu which displays only a few dishes and which reinforces “homemade”. Fresh and seasonal products. Delicious pizza, cooked dishes just as much. Good desserts finish the meal. Everything went very well, from the welcome to the more-than-perfect service and friendliness of the staff. Price corresponding to the beachside but with added quality. Nice place not to be overlooked and to try.

22/08/2024: The location has it all but that’s it! 2 very sparse Cesar salads with a presentation unworthy of a professional, full of tasteless vinaigrette, a Milanese escalope that tasted like fish (probably the same cooking medium as the fish). I only ate the fries... I kindly reported the problem to the waiter who seemed to doubt my observation, we left the restaurant paying 100% of the bill without a word from the completely indifferent waiter...I would have appreciated a word of compassion...nothing! normal other tourists disbelievers replaced us at our table.

12/10/2024: We held a farewell party for around forty people and I was pleasantly surprised by the organization, the quality of the products and the professionalism of the staff. Point for reflection: perhaps set up a price with a colored bracelet for people who do not drink alcohol in order to reduce the impact. I keep the address.

13/08/2024: Très bonne adresse à moins de 5 minutes à pied de la plage de Saint-Jean. Les patrons sont d'une extrême gentillesse, on voit qu'ils aiment ce qu'ils font. Les plats sont très bons et dans de belles proportions. Attention, en pleine période de forte chaleur (comme c'était le cas quand nous nous y sommes rendus) il est préférable de réserver car l'intérieur est assez petit et pas certain qu'en arrivant à l'improviste on puisse vous recevoir. Le côté épicerie fine propose une gamme extrêmement variée de produits régionaux et plus lointain. Encore merci pour ce très bon moment.
