22/03/2026: A wonderful discovery. The staff provided a perfect welcome, a signature of the Negresco. For my first time at La Rotonde, I opted for the scallops accompanied by excellent rosé champagne. The cappuccinos were delicious; I had two, and the tart for dessert was equally good. Of course, I revisited the restaurant afterward, and I absolutely fell in love with Eddy Maniez's octopus dish—a must-try! Next time, I'll come in the evening. May this magnificent place continue forever for the enjoyment of both locals and tourists.
14/03/2026: In the morning there is a buffet (tasty, but small selection), in the evening - a decent restaurant. Desserts are great 👌

03/03/2026: It was our last meal in Menton. Food was good. The service was rude. We ordered an entree to share and two mains. We did expect the entree to come first instead of everything coming together on the table.
01/03/2026: Excellent restaurant that came highly recommended. The service was very friendly, cheerful, and attentive. The menu was varied, and the dishes were very well prepared with fresh ingredients (kudos to the chef for the low-sodium cuisine). The prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed lunch on the terrace with our family in the sunshine at the end of February. I highly recommend it.

22/03/2026: The atmosphere was so-so.
I was expecting very fresh oysters from abroad, but instead I encountered Korean oyster flavors in France. They were incredibly salty. (I ordered size 2 oysters, but perhaps due to a misunderstanding, size 3 came out... No wonder they were so small... I kept thinking something was off while eating.) Shucking the mussels was pure manual labor... I ate them, but it didn't feel like I had eaten anything.

19/03/2026: The service was pleasant, however, the speed at which the buckwheat crêpe was served—less than two minutes after ordering—leaves me wondering about its "homemade" claim. That said, it wasn't bad at all.

20/01/2026: Uninteresting restaurant. Charcuterie board: very fatty ham… the pepper sausages were good. For the mixed platter, three-quarters of the items were reheated. Shrimp fritters (tasted like shrimp). Charged €19.90 per platter for a nice view…
Edit: I'm lowering my rating for the dishonest response. Not admitting that most of the products are industrial and frozen. It's a good thing they were reheated or cooked to order… You add: "and a carafe of water…" That's a good point, but when you don't know the customers, there's no need to attack the fact that we didn't order a drink, because, for your information, we don't drink alcohol. Besides, for a soda at the price they offered, we preferred to watch our waistlines ;). Obviously, we skipped dessert given what was on offer, which seemed to be in the same vein as what we ate.
Leave the space to real restaurateurs… Not a "food" hotspot. (Finally, the person heating/defrosting isn't wearing chef's clothes and is hiding those bags taken straight from the freezer when you walk past them on the ground floor.)

19/03/2026: Paid 14 Euro for a coffee. Yes, 14 Euro. It was pleasant with nice view etc but similar view can be had anywhere aling St Juan de P waterfront. The service was grumpy and off hand to top off the experience … ultimately felt exploitiative and a left bad taste. Will never return.
If you want to see the Scott Fitzgerald bar and small deco style lobby just walk in and out and save your money.
Incidentally, whilst here we paid E38 plus service extra for 2 coffees and a childs juice we’d
earlier by harbour in Cannes had a lovely 3 course menu du jour lunch in a classy restaurant for exacly the same cost. E38 (for 2). Take your pick - 3 course lunch or a coffee - hmmm?
Perhaps a coffee in the 5* Cafe de Paris in Monaco is a good place to compare - historic, exclusive and good view? Nope, they only charge 7 euro.
Simply the most expensive, least good value coffee Ive ever had.
28/01/2026: I've never stayed there myself as I live nearby, but the brunches are perfect after a yoga session (which I offer 😊🙏) or a waterskiing session from the BR pontoon! I also highly recommend the dessert platter with a good coffee on the terrace!

02/02/2026: We came to eat there for a birthday before the change of ownership, and it was fantastic in terms of atmosphere, food, and incredibly friendly service. We returned on Saturday, January 30, 2026. The owner, chef, and servers are no longer the same, and to be completely transparent, it was a disaster! The atmosphere in the dining room was so cold we had to eat with our jackets on. The service was neither welcoming nor competent, especially the young waitress who grumbled and complained to the chef every time we asked, even though we were standing nearby. We'll chalk that up to inexperience... The portions were very small and the food wasn't halal, just so you know. My cousin found a hair in her salad, and the owner clearly called us liars—how shameful! Almost the entire dish was made up of empty mussels with pieces of plastic in the sauce. There were 19 of us, and we left as soon as we finished. The entire staff needs to be retrained, and quickly. Good luck to you because at this rate you're going to be overwhelmed very quickly in the coming season.

01/09/2024: L’endroit est charmant et bucolique. La salle agréable, la cuisine de bonne qualité. Et il y a une dame Pascale qui est charmante et d’une efficacité remarquable, elle se démène pour pallier au peu d’enthousiasme de ses camarades de travail ! Planqués au fond, blablatant entre eux et tellement peu impliqués que la commande de notre dessert a été oubliée !!! Heureusement que Pascale a rattrapé le coup. Il paraît que le recrutement dans la restauration est ardu, c’est surtout la non motivation des jeunes recrues qui laisse désirer ! Encore merci à cette dame.
23/08/2024: Endroit magnifique au bord de la rivière, par contre le service a revoir, nous avons été obligé de demander pour commander a boire et de redemander s'il ne nous avez pas oublié, malgré le peu de table dans le restaurant.
Les pâtes carbonara pas terribles le reste des plats très moyen malgré une addition pas donné.
Nous essaierons les planches une prochaine fois pour l'apéritif mais dernière fois côté restaurant.

02/06/2024: endroit super, la musique est génial également, mais alors la raison pour laquelle je ne retournerai jamais dans cet endroit, c’est le videur.
En sortant, voulant fumer, une cigarette, il nous a mis un coup de pression, donc je suis allé simplement lui poser la question du pourquoi du comment, et il m’a directement agressé verbalement.
Je trouve ça inadmissible de m’être un videur comme celui-ci, pour que vous puissiez le reconnaître, c’était le samedi 2 juin vers 1h du matin. Cette personne est censée assurer la sécurité de tout le monde et là c’est directement lui qui provoque les embrouilles. Je suis vraiment déçue car j’adore ce bar mais pour que j’y revienne il faut absolument changer de videur. En plus en regardant les avis je vois que je ne suis pas la seule à me plaindre, il faut donc prendre une décision immédiate.
