08/03/2026: Whether with friends or for a romantic evening, this place offers very affordable rates, friendly service, and a lovely view of the canal boats.
We were a little disappointed that the cook seemed less efficient than on our previous visits...
30/01/2026: A wonderful discovery! This restaurant is all homemade. The welcome was warm and the setting very pleasant. Highly recommended.

24/02/2026: Set menu at €36.50... canned meat as a starter... butcher's cut: very poor quality... meat thawed in cold water... washed-out flavor and a watery taste... no blood... avoid it, given the price there are much better options in Nevers or the surrounding area...
It's absolutely unacceptable to serve such poor quality products, even the bread is unworthy of the name...
A disgrace... avoid it

The decor is quite typical.
16/09/2024: 2 coffees ordered. Lots of waiting. Only 1 cupcake forced to ask for the other. A white cup that only has the name. Very used. Whereas before there were older dishes, clean and typical of a café. We used to have coffee on Sundays and it was always full of customers. Now it's almost empty. Change of boss, Change of servers. It's no longer worth anything. Too bad Café L'Escale, it was an address in St Gilles....

15/03/2025: Une gentille serveuse professionnelle et attentionnée. Un repas bon et une vue bien agréable. Nous avons passé un très bon moment. Une adresse que nous retiendrons en redescendant de Paris.

Cucina regionale preparata in modo eccellente.
Fuori non sembra un granché, quindi non lasciatevi ingannare, dentro è un bel ristorante con una bella vista.
Personale molto gentile e simpatico.
Se siete da queste parti questo è il ristorante da provare.

Prix très corrects
10/06/2024: Stopped near here when cruising the canal of the Loire. Probably the best meal we had whilst in France. Good local dishes and reasonably priced. The owners also arranged to provide us with croissants the following morning due to the local bakery being permanently closed.
