La Salle à Manger à Crest
Crest
25/11/2025: The cuisine was refined, flavorful, and delicately presented (except for the poultry dish, which I found rather disappointing).
The service was pleasant and attentive.
The setting was cozy, although I felt the lighting could be improved.
A lovely place for local gourmet cuisine.
The price reflects this: €130 for three people, drinks included.
23/11/2025: The welcome is always very warm, the dishes are prepared with care: balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautiful presentation. The new decor is also very nice. Everyone enjoyed their meal; thank you to the whole team, and see you soon.

Le donjon
Crest
19/04/2026: Crest doesn't impose itself. It reveals itself little by little, almost like someone testing the patience of those who arrive. On one of those quiet mornings, it was at Brasserie Le Donjon that the city finally opened up to me.
The place doesn't attract attention at first glance. There's nothing spectacular about the facade, nor the furniture, nor the arrangement of the tables. But just sitting down is enough to realize that there's another layer there, a kind of shared life that is built in everyday life.
The kitchen, always active, lets out smells that cross the room. People come in, greet each other, order the usual. There's an invisible choreography, repeated every day.
I was noticed quickly. Foreigners don't go unnoticed there. Questions came, attempts at conversation, genuine curiosity. In a few minutes, I was no longer just observing, I was part of the scene.
I explained the reason for my presence: my great-grandfather Adrien Berard, son of Pauline D'bois, born in that region, a great-grandfather who left for Brazil at the age of 40 and never returned. A fragmented story, made of gaps. I was there trying to stitch together something that had never been fully told.
Between sips, I wrote postcards. Three. Small gestures to capture the moment and send it far away, to my mother, my sister, and a cousin. As if it were possible to condense an entire city into a few lines.
But what Crest offered me wasn't information. It was sensation.
Sitting there, I began to imagine. Not as a nostalgic exercise, but as an attempt at connection. Perhaps he did that too, sitting, observing, waiting for time to pass between sips.
Perhaps he crossed paths with similar faces, heard similar voices, experienced the same slow cadence of that morning.
The place, at that moment, ceased to be just a physical space. It became an intersection point between times. Between what I know and what I will never know.
The search for concrete records did not advance. A misspelled name, inaccessible files, postponed promises. The official story failed. But, in a way, Brasserie Le Donjon made up for that absence.
There, I understood something that wasn't in the documents: the environment in which a life might have existed. The type of encounter, the rhythm of the relationships, the simplicity of the gestures. Elements that are not archived, but that remain.
Crest seems small, but that's just a geographical measure.
What truly defines the city is how it welcomes, the naturalness with which it includes, the silent density of its routines.
Le Donjon is the clearest expression of this: a place where stories are told, lived, repeated, and shared.
I left without answers from all my research. But I left with images, with hypotheses, with a diffuse presence that accompanied me to the door.
And sometimes, that's enough.
If you go there, pay close attention. Perhaps the city won't tell you anything immediately. But if you insist, it ends up speaking, even if it's in silence.
I leave with all my gratitude for having had the opportunity to learn so much history and for having received the affection of everyone who crossed my path.
28/03/2026: Excellent, I recommend without hesitation. Very welcoming.

L'esprit Gourmand
Crest
28/05/2025: Permanently closed. Disappointed by the wasted trip.
13/05/2025: While visiting Crest, we chose this restaurant for its daily menu featuring fish or meat. From starter to dessert, we were delighted; the fish was cooked to perfection with delicious herb-infused vegetables whose aromas linger in the mouth.
The welcome was very friendly; this restaurant is well worth the detour.

Sur Les Quais
Crest
21/03/2026: Excellent welcome, quality cuisine, we highly recommend this place.
Geneviève and Louis from Toulouse
24/02/2026: The quality of the food isn't amazing and is definitely below what it used to be: the flavors, the taste, and the presentation are all gone... The bissap, supposed to be a strong-tasting drink, was really bland. The limited selection might suggest freshness and exemplary quality, but that's not the case at all. There are no appetizers, and the main courses are tasteless when they're not undercooked (who eats overcooked duck in a dry burger?). The setting is really pleasant, and I'm willing to give this restaurant another chance, but frankly, everything needs to be rethought.

Le Globe
Crest
15/11/2025: Passing through Crest, drawn in by the originality of the daily menu, this place made a very good choice. The welcome was warm, and we had a table on the sunny terrace on a beautiful autumn day. The dish of the day, a filet mignon with an Asian twist, was very good, as was the homemade dessert. No wait, €22.40 including a beer and a coffee – nothing to complain about. All the best.

McDonald's
Crest
26/04/2026: A disgrace!
An endless wait for click and collect despite having pre-ordered at La Vance. Cold fries and treated like dirt.
This kind of lax service is unacceptable.
You need to review your procedures.
I have absolutely no desire to return to your restaurant.
I strongly advise against going there; there's one in Étoile-sur-Rhône that's so much more efficient!
25/04/2026: The service was far too slow for a set menu; it's outrageous (30 minutes when there was no one else in the restaurant).

Le kleber
Crest
24/10/2024: Pleasant welcome. Cozy room. Uneven dishes. Great discoveries (buternut velouté with smoked egg) and basic dishes without originality or flavor: the octopus salad is just an uninteresting green salad!! When you have 2 glasses of champagne for 24 euros it would be appropriate to offer something to nibble: e.g. a little tapenade...
A little expensive. These small shortcomings do not necessarily make you want to continue the adventure at Kleber.
14/10/2024: According to the senses in 3 dishes
It was in a warm setting that we were able to appreciate the chef's beautiful inspirations, bringing us real taste flavors with excellent surprises that were both surprising and delicious.

Cafe de Paris
Crest
03/09/2024: A fuir absolument !!!
