01/01/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant during a short trip with friends in the area, and it was a wonderful surprise—a truly fantastic find!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal (children and adults alike). Everything is undeniably fresh and homemade, the waitress and chef are lovely, and the place is charming and cozy. Our final words upon leaving: "It's a shame we don't live nearby so we can come back!"

14/02/2026: A lovely house with simple yet romantic rooms, run by a dedicated and very friendly couple. Despite its location, it was very quiet, which might be different in the summer. Breakfast is served on a tray that really does have room for everything :). We felt very comfortable – thank you so much! À la prochaine fois!

Since the change of ownership, the Swiss bar in Algiers is a mere shadow of its former self… gone is the legendary mint tea, gone are the charcuterie and cheese platters…
It's become just another bar; the unique features that made it special have vanished!

14/10/2025: Lovely restaurant located on a pedestrian-only street in Old Nimes. We had a fabulous alfresco dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful with wine and meal selections.
The Seared Prawns were perfectly cooked and stacked atop mango and avocado. The multitude of flavors melded beautifully and to say it was delicious would be an understatement.
The Salad with crispy goat cheese (a goat cheese egg roll!), smoked duck breast, gizzards, and assorted veggies had layers of flavor that harmonized beautifully. Again, delicious would be an understatement!
My husband had the tataki and loved it. The chef here has a masterful command of flavors and supreme cooking skills. The duck and the prawns were not dry at all which I often find with these two proteins. The gizzards were so good I may travel back to Nimes just for another bite!

23/11/2025: We ate at the Ferme de Cornadel on Thursday evening for a birthday and it was very good. I have read the review regarding lack of taste and the fire and don't understand their comments.
When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see the fire as its been so cold for a few days. We were sat directly in front of the fire and sure you can smell it but at no point were we in any discomfort.
For the taste and selection we were very happy with what we ordered, all the dishes were delicious and well cooked, I'm a chef myself and thought the food was well presented and good quality. The fondant au chocolat though needs attention as it was cold and not melting in the middle, despite me specially asking and being assured it was. However, that seems common these days and the art of cooking to order seems lost. It did taste very nice though but not a fondant au chocolat, more a gâteauauchocolat!
One exception was that one of our party is gluten intolerant and the choice was very poor and needs both expanding and also clearing marking, unfortunately she didn't each much and even after ordering gluten free something in the desert (crème brûlée) reacted with her and she had some discomfort. Switching simply to wheat, barley and rye alternatives in the preparation would solve this!
Don't let the negatives put you off though, it's a lovely place with very good food and well worth visiting. We will definitely return.
