13/06/2026: We stayed at this establishment to celebrate my husband's birthday (budget of nearly €1,000 for the night and dinner). Beforehand, everything went very well: the reception team was particularly attentive and available to organize this surprise.
Unfortunately, the stay revealed several major shortcomings in the professionalism of the on-site staff, which fell short of the standards expected for such a prestigious establishment.
To top it all off, the post-stay management was disastrous. After I left a toiletry bag behind (for which I was responsible), the reception demanded my bank details by email to charge me for its return. When I expressed my surprise, I received a late-night email that completely ignored my disappointment and instead asked me to leave a review on the château's website – bizarre and inappropriate.
Although the sales manager eventually rectified the situation the following day with apologies and assistance, the overall experience remains very disappointing for a Relais & Châteaux property. It's a shame that shortcomings in service and IT security marred such a promising start.

I would like to correct several statements. First, I did not make any "threat" of a negative review. It was the night receptionist who, in his inappropriate late-night message, explicitly asked me to leave a review. I did indeed tell him that I would.
Regarding the "major shortcomings" during the stay (which was otherwise quite pleasant), I had chosen not to elaborate out of courtesy to the staff, but the content of your response compels me to do so:
1. For an establishment of this caliber, it is surprising that some employees do not speak English fluently.
2. When I paid in cash, the receptionist rudely asked if she should "give me my change." Although I had previously opted to leave her a tip, demanding change in this way instead of simply giving it back is unacceptable professional misconduct for a business of this standing.
I regret that your response attempts to shift the blame rather than acknowledge these shortcomings.
28/05/2026: The restaurant was exceptional, but it's a shame that when it's 30 degrees Celsius there's no parasol equipped with a fan or misting system... which makes the meal less enjoyable.
