21/08/2025: First of all, it should be noted that this is no longer the restaurant "Le Chaudron" but rather "Le Capatapas," which has nothing to do with it. Having found this pleasant little spot, we sat down and chose an octopus salad. The salad arrived in a tiny ramekin, and we wondered if it was a joke. Furthermore, the octopus was inedible, three-quarters of the pieces being tough or rubbery. We mentioned this to the server, who made us choose another dish. It was a plancha of octopus and squid with parsley. The octopus was good, but the chili was too strong, which distorted its flavor, and more importantly, it wasn't indicated in the description. Since we don't like chili... As for the squid, it looked like yellow gnocchi (???) covered once again with coriander, even though it was indicated as parsley. So, Mr. Chef, if you don't know what What a persillade is, it's garlic and parsley. The kind of bitter juice the squid were swimming in made them inedible. We reported it to the waiter, who, fortunately, was really nice and friendly. He was sorry. The owner came to see us and said we were the first to complain, even though we'd been told the opposite five minutes before. These dishes are served on dessert plates with a more than questionable salad. Besides, when you see the man with glasses and greasy hair in the kitchen, it puts you off eating. All this for the modest sum of €18.90 per dish. A real scandal!! Stay away, it's truly a scam.

25/01/2026: Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our lunch experience at this restaurant. We waited over one and a half hours for our food, while other guests who arrived after us were served before us. Our order consisted of meat, seafood pasta, and wok vegetables. During this long waiting time, the waiter asked us five times which wine we wanted, even though we had already answered this question several times. The overall service was disorganized and inattentive, and the excessive waiting time completely ruined the experience. Sadly, this visit did not meet even basic expectations.

25/01/2026: The dish was served cold, the vegetables were from the day before… what a shame!

29/10/2025: It was pouring down with rain so we ran in for shelter and ended up eating. The steak was really tasty and well cooked along with the ‘sausage and mash’ ! Thank you for the shelter and a surprisingly good meal ❤️🥰

13/11/2025: First time at this establishment with friends, and I was quite disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We waited 20 minutes before being seated, which is understandable when the restaurant is full, but that wasn't the case. It seemed like the servers were completely overwhelmed, but at the same time, some didn't seem to know what to do, wandering back and forth empty-handed, making trivial remarks we weren't supposed to hear as if we weren't even there (for example, a waitress was telling her colleague how disgusted she was about dropping a can from the restaurant onto a woman on the beach below, and her colleague's only response was, and I quote, "We don't give a damn"). Between the time we were seated and the time we received our drinks, 40 minutes passed, even though we saw our drinks sitting on the bar waiting to be retrieved for what seemed like an eternity. A lack of professionalism was evident in the unpleasant waitress, who spoke condescendingly to some colleagues and even worse to the cook (who didn't speak French well enough to understand everything she said). The meal wasn't too bad, but it was expensive for the quality: the Camembert was undercooked, the fries were frozen, the steak tartare was bland, and there were no sauces. The result: disorganized and unprofessional service, which spoiled the meal despite the superb view. It's a shame, because the place has great potential. While many things are understandable, organization and respect for customers and colleagues remain paramount.

06/12/2025: I have rarely had such a disappointing experience in a restaurant. I ordered their pizza, which was advertised as their specialty, and after a 30-minute wait, the unfriendly waiter came back to tell me my pizza was burnt. Even worse, he explained that they were out of dough and that I would have to choose another dish… Frankly, this is unacceptable for an establishment that claims to know what it's doing. Between the wait, the lack of professionalism, and the complete absence of any attempt at compensation, I absolutely do not recommend this place.

11/07/2025: Worst experience ever ! Please dear food lover and people who want to have a chill moment, do not enter this restaurant ! Only for tourists ! 17,5€ for a gin tonic without any added value… Many other places are most valuable in Cassis. Be sur that I will never come back, but I hope to preserve other people from this kind of moment.

12/01/2026: Avoid this place unless you want to be treated condescendingly by the entire staff, who are extremely unpleasant—there are much better options in Cassis where you'll receive a pleasant welcome. Seated on the terrace at 2:30 pm, expecting to order a sharing platter featuring Italian specialties displayed on the bar/restaurant's window during the Christmas holidays, we were curtly informed that they were only available in the summer. We then ordered two glasses of wine, which still hadn't arrived half an hour later, presumably because we had made it clear to the waiter that he wasn't being friendly. In short, this experience led us to discover another establishment, very simple but considerably more welcoming, where, unlike the Mistral, you actually enjoy your meal. Avoid at all costs.
